Great comparison/ review, for me its the Deuter all day long, a different class.

I've got a couple of kestrel packs and a Berghaus freeflow that has a similar back design as the deuter. Whilst it allows for better airflow, it pushes the pack away from your body and is less stable as it shifts the C of G further back. I prefer the close feel of the osprey.

Hello thank you for the review. Does the Deuter Futura Pro 36 have a laptop pouch inside?

its a pouch for a hydration bladder, its not padded, i suppose you could put a laptop in it, but its not for that purpose

Great review. I had pretty much already decided on the Deuter but your review was very helpful. Have you carried on the Deuter for international travel? Based on the published dimensions of 24" (converted from CM), it looks like you could press it into the overhead as long as it isn't "overstuffed". Thoughts?

I’ve taken my deuter on planes loads of times with no bother. Hold and cabin. Tie all the straps and tuck them in so they don’t get stuck in the conveyor

@@SaltNPepperChips Is the torso length even adjustable on the Futura? I find that Deuter has high quality backpacks but lacking adjustments, which they do have on the aircontact backpacks. The straps are also way too close together at the top, if you don't have a narrow neck the straps "cut" into your neck.
