OSRS has a new Grandmaster Quest

Old School Runescape's 5th grandmaster quest came out today, While Guthix Sleeps! It's the first one since Desert Treasure 2 about a year ago, and it introduces 4 new pieces of equipment. Emberlight, Scorching bow, and Purging staff, which are demonbane, and the Bone claws, which have a special attack meant to fit in between the dragon dagger and dragon claws.

One thing that wasn’t addressed in the equipment description was the infuse mechanic for the emberlight. Basically you don’t have to have 10k charges in order to upgrade it you just have to have used 10k charges and the infusion on the arclight goes up with every charge used if that makes sense.

Dragonflame crystal: upgrades dragon claws to dragonfire claws. Increased accuracy and special attack of unavoidable 1 burn damage per tic for 20 tics. No increased max hit.

you do not need to wait for the letter btw and there is dialogue during the quest referring to it, and your character just says "yeah i never got that letter"

You don't have to wait to get it, I started the quest instantly after the update, which in turn led to some amusing dialogue that's probably unique to players who didn't get the message first.

When ds2 came out, many people complained that a bis item came from a post quest monster

@@WildMudkip how do you explain the rings from dt2 bosses then.. I'd also say soulreaper axe is end game gear as well, which comes form a post quest monster. Not to mention BIS zenyte jewelry from mm2. Idk, call me old fashioned but i'd rather have stuff locked behind hours of questing rather than hours of raiding.

@@midaswell_vr People complained about all of those as well. Personally I like that the new weapons are only bis for niche situations (demons) rather than bis everywhere. It kinda sets a precedent that future new gear will have their place being bis for their own niche scenarios. Rather than having a "bowfa situation" where you have to grind out one item because its bis for the majority of content. Power creep is inevitable but taking a "niche bis items" route might slow it down
