The narrator mentioned Murphy's films that were later in his career. What put Eddie on the "A" list after SNL was Trading Places, 48 Hrs., Beverly Hills Cop. I think the best performance was in The Distinguished Gentleman (from Florida), a very little mentioned film (perhaps because it depicts Congress a bit too accurately). It appears after that, Murphy performed in less hard-hitting roles.

“Guard dog barkin, Do he bite?” “Kill my landlord, Kill my landlord.” Eddie Murphy 1980 something. If you haven’t seen his early SNL work you’re missing out. I remember watching him live when he first came on SNL. He’s still great!
