LEANAR Allow me please to let you into a little secret. I watched Pearl Harbour only today.. It's been on dvd in my bedroom cupboard for years and as I'm poorly thought I'd give it a run out earlier.. I got to admit it really upset me and made me very emotional 😢 Man is a vile animal war, killing, dying is so futile its very upsetting. I don't know if its because I'm in bad health or cos I'm now 65 and at an age where you realise life is so delicate and man's a bloody fool. 😢😢😢

I don’t care what people say about this movie. I love it. It’s not entirely historically accurate, but it tells a new generation about Pearl Harbor and what we lost before America officially entered the war.
@YankeeCommie7 ай бұрын
yeah its just a movie about how hard life is and how important to love the people that matter the most.
@Jason-ww3xi5 сағат бұрын
If it's not historically accurate then doesn't it run the risk of warping how people perceive that event in history, thus modifying how they respond to said event? Orwell 101. Great movie, but unfortunately - like many movies about WW2 - pure propaganda.

Something about this song is that it applies perfectly to every part of the story. Evelyn’s pain when she thinks Rafe is dead, her grief when Danny dies for real, as well as Rafe’s grief at the loss of his best friend. It’s a song of both platonic and romantic love.

I love this song and always will. I lost my Mom on October 28th, 2005 and this is the song that I had played at my Mom's service. I've not missed one anniversary of her passing that I don't go to the cemetary and play this song for her. It just makes me feel that shes always with me and giving me those special hugs she always had for me. I miss her beyond what words could even describe and I can't wait to see her again along with my loving sister, Sharon.

im writing or at least attempting to write things about myself and who i am in a journal to make sure i don't lose any more of myself than i already have due to what is very likely early onset dementia among other health issues and this song just happened to pop up in my head. it always amazes me how hearing a song from 20-30 years ago can bring back moments in life as if they happened yestereday.

I am Japanese. I first learned about this song, not from the movie. It's my favorite song, and I've listened to it off and on for decades. I was a little shocked to find out today that this song was used in this movie. I feel sad that Japanese people are portrayed as the enemy and treated ridiculously. We cannot deny that that war was a cruel and horrible war, but now Japanese and Americans need to respect each other and join forces for the future. I pray for all those who lost their lives in this war. Winning or losing a war is not important.

My beloved soul mate loved this song very much. Never did I imagine, last July 2022, my love of my life husband passed away unexpectedly from Covid 19. I feel like part of me is gone. When I think back on the times and the dreams we left behind, my heart breaks. The song makes me cry every time I listen to it. In my heart, he will always be a part of me and wherever I am, he will always be there.

I no longer watch movies or even tv but when this came out, my grandparents were still alive. Grandpa was 18 and grandma was 16 when they got married. They already had two kids when grandpa was drafted. I adored this movie and this song and I will never be able to hear it or see it without thinking of them. They had 69 anniversaries together with the exception of his tour.

When I think back on these times, And the dreams we left behind, I'll be glad cause I was blessed to get, To have you in my life, When I look back on these days, I look and see your face, You were right there for me. In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky, In my heart there'll always be a place for you, For all my life, I'll keep a part of you with me, And everywhere I am there you'll be, And everywhere I am there you'll be, Well you showed me how it feels, To feel the sky within my reach, And I always will remember all, The strength you gave to me, Your love made me make it through, Ohh I owe so much to you, You were right there for me. In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky, In my heart there'll always be a place for you, For all my life, I'll keep a part of you with me, And everywhere I am there you'll be, And everywhere I am there you'll be, Cause I always saw you in my light, my strength, And I wanna thank you now for all the ways, You were right there for me, you were right there for me You were right there for me, For always In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky, In my heart there'll always be a place for you, For all my life, I'll keep a part of you with me, And everywhere I am there you'll be And everywhere I am there you'll be

I adore this movie, I don’t care what anyone says. It’s incredibly hokey at times, but it has so much heart. And I absolutely loved Kate Beckinsale’s performance. The attack is one of the most exciting sequences put to celluloid. And this song playing through the credits was just the cherry on top.
