I can totally relate to this guy's suffering. I have had chronic back pain for several years. I had back surgery in 2009. I have Degenerative disc disease and Scoliosis. Before my surgery I had double sciatica, nerve and artery was pinched for 11 months. I was bent over and had to get up against a wall or tree and slowly brace myself against it to straighten up. I'm thankful I can walk without being bent over. I was told I would need at least two more surgeries in my lifetime. The DDD is from the neck down. But, I'm glad to be alive, and very thankful for good doctors!

I use to be an Instructor at AFS Academy of Martial Arts and Fitness for professional fighters until I herniated my disk at L5S1. I competed myself until I herniated my disk. I continued coaching but it was too risky for me to continue fighting. I had endoscopic back surgery to remove the herniated portion of the disk, but my back was never the same. I went to a Chiropractor for a while, and it really helped with the pain. Your patient should be really careful about returning to training so soon. My biggest mistake was returning to training too soon and not allowing myself enough time to heal. I should have taken a lot more time off. I may not have needed surgery if I had only allowed myself more time to heal. I randomly have relapses with my back injury to this day. If I was able to roll back the past, then I would have taken 3 months off from training after my back injury. It may have saved my fighting career in the long run. It is so hard to take time off from the things we love doing so much, but it may be the very thing that allows one to continue training for many years to come. You have to listen to your body or you want have a very long career. The best of luck to your patient! I hope he makes a full recovery!

There has to be something to this science that drs either won’t or can’t acknowledge. I’ve been on muscle relaxants and physiotherapy for months, but decided to try a chiropractor and found relief within 2 or 3 visits.
