Well done! This is the best video I’ve seen on Ostuni. I’ll be there later this year. Looks beautiful!

Thanks so much for the kind comment Deena :) - I love it there! I definitely recommend if you have the time to sit alongside the wall and just enjoy the peace looking over the olive groves and the sea in the distance. It was my favourite. I hope you have a great visit when you're there!

Thak you for the video. We're heading there next fall and will use Ostuni as a base for travel in the area.

Which month did you visit there? Nice weather. I’ve plan to visit there in May. Maybe it’s a bit cold.

I was there during September and it was still quite warm. I imagine May will be cooler but still lovely!

What do you think of otranto as a base. Or would you do Ostuni as one. Also thinking of monopoli as a base. Total of 7 nights. Want to be around the best Sandy beaches...

In my opinion those are all great options for a base! If sandy beaches are your preference I would say Otranto has some lovely local ones so if some days you don't feel like a day trip, you have great options within the town. Honestly though, there are no wrong answers between those three; they're all lovely. Ostuni of course is slightly inland whereas the other two spill into the sea directly.

I would choose my "base" in Ostuni depending on whether you have a car or not. There are no taxis or uber services and the bus service is not very frequent to the train station. The beautiful sandy Pilone beach is 8 km from Ostuni, so you will also need a car to get there. If you do not have a car it might be better to choose a city like Lecce or Brindisi as a base where the train station is in the city. But decide for yourself what suits you best.

@@sandradowling7239 Ostuni is not cheap but since it has a local population supermarkets are not very pricy. A cappuccino and a sweet cornetto con crema start your day for 3 to 5 Euros for both. Aperol Spritz ranges from 5 to 7 Euros, sometimes with a small snack included. Pizza, Foccacia, sandwiches and pasta range from 5 Euros (Take away) to 12 Euros (Restaurant). Of course you will also find posh restaurants for fine and more expensive dining. Meat and fish is relatively cheap at the local shops and fruits and vegetables are best bought on the busy local market every saturday morning. A week in a local trullo will cost you from 400 to 1200 Euros for 4 people depending on the season and whether you need a pool or not. July and August are high season with Ostuni really crowded but also very italian.

How did you get from Ostuni station to the main city?
@itssomethingaboutdavid8 ай бұрын
There is a bus stop just outside of the station that goes between the centro storico and the station :)
