Saw people play it online before I tried it. Saw the circles in different colours and fonts so assumed you can alter them. Also with the background of Minecraft texture packs it just made sense. However, I didn't know any skins and as the default one was so convoluted I just looked up "osu simple skin" and found the one shown in the video.

Also got to take into account time and play count. This dude grinded pretty hard consistently throughout the year, so he is going to see results. You can play for a year, but playing less than a thousand times a month, your improvement rate will be slower. Just keep playing and sometimes push yourself beyond what is comfortable. Just don’t overdo it, over exertion is when bad habits form.

It all comes to if u actually want to improve or not, if u always play same difficulty, if u are afraid of trying much higher difficulties, if u don't have the will or time to train on stuff u are bad at, like 300bpm dt songs to improve speed or alt maps or fingercontrol maps and this type of stuff. Getting out of the comfort zone might be hard but is the best way to improve.

@@Leukocyte34 If you are at 150 bpm in streams and you suddenly start to play 250 bpm streams you won't improve even if you do 100 tries everyday. The best way to improve is to play things out of your comfort zone but not too hard so that you can't even read or tap them.

Aiming was always a huge struggle since I broke my right arm as a kid and it messed up my hand to eye coordination, so because of that I never really farmed DT or anything like that. But I've also been playing the same difficulty of maps for like 3 years lmao. I never really found what my best skillsets in osu were until 2019 which was HDHR and streams, but I'm capitalizing on that now so ye.

It took me 3.5 months and like 3k+ play count to pass the bloody penultimate diff of Sotarks Harumachi Swing (Expert). TBF I have done 3.2k plays in the last 4 weeks but still impressive to pass a 5 star in a month

I'm glad I got to a point where I can appreciate these types of videos. I used to spend hours watching improvement videos and comparing myself to them to see where I hold up. Shit like that only demotivated me and made me salty at my own improvement speed. Over time I learned to just enjoy the game (going offline helped), and hopefully in time some of the people in this comment section can do the same cause there's no utility in getting mad at yourself for not improving quickly enough. Keep up the good work, you're a really strong player ^_^

Hello, i don't know if you'll see this comment, but if you will, this video was really refreshing for me, i finally managed, in 8 months and 200 hours of gameplay (aka intense dt farming) to become a 5 digit, it is a big accomplishment for me and it meant a lot to me, so this video really brang back the memories of simply enjoying the game, not caring about, combo, pp, acc, and just playing the game with friends in multi lobbies... your play during your start makes me remember I used to play like that over 4 years ago (wow its been 4+ years.), but I still havent hit the 3k pp mark , and never made a 200pp play. I'm just now starting to reintroduce myself to 170+ bpm streams, and trying to reinforce my jumps again, just 60-70pp off the 3k mark that i've been yearning for for 4 years. You've improved tremendously over just 1 year and thats a perfect showing of someone who's easily going to be a top osu contender with the likes of BTMC, rafis, etc. I'll never get to that level, but you have tremendous potential to be top 100, and even top 20 if you continue to imrpove. Man sticked with single tapping for a whole year, and then there's me. Can't figure out what style of tapping, tablet style and what fingers to use. Im currently using hybrid tapping, hover and ring/index

If anything, I'm a bit afraid to change my tapping style. I'll happily change literally ANYTHING if I see that it could benefit me or is much more suited for my style. But when it comes to tapping, I'm worried that changing it could set off a chain off events for better or worse. Like what if I wont be able to play my favourite sotarks jump farm maps for that sweet juicy pp, and instead will have to switch to those wretched '''''stream''''' maps uhhg.. just the thought makes me sick.... jk I just don't want to learn alternation right now because single tapping still has a lot of potential. High ranked single tappers can do upwards of 260bpm whilst I can barely do 240bpm on a good day. So yeah, single tapping will continue until it prevents me from improving. Then I'll attempt to master alternation.

Amazing. There really isn't anything I enjoy more than improvement. I plan to make a HUGE video for it. Like a KZbin movie basically. I plan for it to take at least 4 years to complete, but it will definitley take longer than that. It's about improving my entire life and about improvement in general, so yeah it's going to be long. Ive been playing this game since 2014 and boy I tell you, there's no real reason to care about pp. Just play as long as its fun, enjoy the game and take it easy on yourself. Not everyone improves at the same rate

Good progression video , what I find astonishing is your tablet area which is tiny, even flyingtuna who uses a very small area has a bigger area than yours. But since your muscle memory is very used to that area is not worth changing it. Also , you made it to 4 digits using it so you know better I guess

Ima drop smth, tho I am kinda late to the party. I think all the "newer" players should consider giving this a read. I noticed that Hysz playstyle is extremely one-sided. He basically only focused on training aim and long jumps. You can rarely find any bursts in his plays and as far as I have seen it, not a single stream (hitting a lot of single notes very fast). I am not saying that this is bad you can totally play like that if you want to. But let me put it that way, its much easier to develop just one core skill of this game, than trying to focus on having a really diverse skillset. I think this usually takes much much longer, so don't feel bad if you don't have your first 100pp play after 2 months. And btw, harumachi clover, his first 100pp play, is considered a "Farm Map". The pp system gives more points for maps with long jumps than ones that have streams or maps that are hard to read but have medium to small jumps. Dont be put off by this, he went with the meta, which again, is totally fine, but you should look at this video with a grain of salt. thx for the read

And then we have players like mrekk who are literally good at everything , especially speed in his case , his only weakness is eZ since he can't read very low AR maps he's said but eZ isn't even relevant for pp farming. But yeah , usually some players tend to be more or less one sided. I'm decent at jumps as well but I suck dog shit at burst streaming and stuff, I do try to play stream maps but getting good at streaming is really hard in the beginning if you're not vaxei or a very experienced player and thus jumpy maps are usually more fun since it's something you're at least somewhat good at.
