Cool. You can also add the number of ranked maps per mapper to the analysis for some additional stats and correlations. As a mapper it's also interesting to see if there are any other mappers that were influenced by the same (or almost) people like you.

Im pretty new to mapping, and i've taken "inspiration" from pretty much every mapper/map. I do admire people like skystar, you (pishifat), and yes, hollow wings, but i dont really stick to specific people for inspiration for mapping, and i just started mapping because i thought it might be fun.

wow. interesting. seeing this makes me wonder who the oldest mappers are btw. i looked at the start of the branches and was surprised after 'fffanatic' whose name i never heard of has the second oldest map i've found after peppy's. makes me wonder if there were others that just aren't listed because they just made 1 map and didn't influence anyone :x and peppy's disco prince was the first map, right?

peppy's disco prince was the first submitted map under BSS (Beatmap Submission System) which means there were possibly a few other "beta" maps around. Most 2007 mappers weren't featured here because it's really hard to contact them, but some of them managed to keep a legacy, such as DJPop and Starrodkirby86 (famous for his Kirby MIXes). They were still an important part of the game and there are definitely some hidden gems from 2007.

I found something quite intresting. Starrodkirby86 was influenced by 3 mappers- none of which responded. He was inspired only by old school mappers. This may be why his mapping style seems so out of place compared to some of the maps recently seen in this "era" of mapping.

Idk about the other two mappers that influenced me..But the most I can think of (sorta, becuz idk I think I might have mapped it on my own mapping style..)is I guess..DJPop, because he made some very good maps, although he doesn't make maps anymore ( I think the loved marisa stole the precious thing map was like watching a series finale...It was perfect, but it was the end y'know...kinda sad..about that.. :( )

You should definitely turn this into a network graph that shows name relative to incoming reference count, those are much easier to read. Example: drunksandlampposts.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/philprettyv4.png. It's unsurprising that influence is a Pareto distribution.
