How on earth did Dave Smith lose Natalie Cook?? I remembered watching an indoor at the Dempsey last year when Cook was running the 3k. She dropped out and didn't do anything until NCAA indoors. She finished last in the 5k and after the race, you could see her limping. Shortly after that, she entered the portal and eventually ended up at Colorado. I haven't heard anything about her for XC, indoors or outdoors since she transferred.

could the announcer not see Natalie Cook near the front of the race the whole way? never said her name once until a minute after she won. even if the timer wasnt tracking her its hard to miss her in bright orange right in the front...
@JF-dy2dr2 жыл бұрын
@I. Rex he seemed to be going by the timing results and early on she got missed at one split so those results showed her way back.

she was not in the front she was hiding behind the pack until the last 400 m

He also made a mistake by saying NC State was at this meet, they aren't competing until the 30th
@JF-dy2dr2 жыл бұрын
@@bethanymclean2136 actually he just listed top 10 in descending order, but it was awkward saying 6 of top 10 were there and then naming all 10!

as it was not live streamed, but rather apparently just recorded, I assume there was no screen he could be watching to see who the actual leaders were. He was probably too far from course to see leaders at 3K.

Oklahoma, where the Cherokee people were driven too.....thanks Oklahoma!! Great race, tough course, BEAUTIFUL course, GREAT non shaky filming, annnnd you cannot tell a good runner by running styles anymore because (I am not making fun of anyone's physique here) the runner that won looked like she can be a little bit knocked kneed making it more amazing that she ran so well. Great run by everyone especially, of course the top women.

Anyone knows the status of Grace Ping of Oklahoma State? She ran some races as a freshman last year but no updates since then.

Be great to see NC and KT going head to head at the NCAA XC and track season noting there are also a lot of other exceptionally talented athletes competing who can rise to the occasion.

It looks like 2 of them. Probably for their own safety not to stay around right at the finish line.

I agree, just dragging them like that is not right. Plenty of other ways to keep them safe.

Great race but horrible unnecessary music! Accurate commentary is all that's needed. 🙄
@frankiek22692 жыл бұрын
Too bad the commentary wasn’t accurate. He mixed up Natalie Cooks name at the end. Didn’t have a clue who she was. “Hennemen, Jacurry, Taylor Roe. Everlyn Kimboi, Aubrey Frentheway,” Wasn’t until a minute after her crossing did someone let him know his screwup. Announcers suck. The NuttyCombe announcers mixed up Kelsey Chmiel coming in second. They confused her for a BYU runner even though she was in all black. Exact same uniform as Touhy in front of her.

Moronic! Does anyone in their right mind think that adding music improves races? It's just an annoying distraction. Pathetic!

Saying Natalie is a freshman, she will be 20 years old Jan 1, KT is 9 months older. Her track parents were extremely smart to keep her back. 19 when she graduated. Also everybody tries to put KT name in headline as she is the gold standard. Natalie father in the attempt to break KT record had pacesetters, ran at night (cooler) and still couldn’t break it. Just to show you how popular KT is I don’t have to spell her name, try NC and see the reaction

These things don't have to degrade into a contest or comparison....celebrate the exceptionalism...hopefully there will be plenty of head to head competitions...may they both continue to do well.

@@JF-dy2dr I agree it is just KT has been under alot of pressure, 4 time Gatorade x country player of the year and she was always the pacesetter in her records. Her name is bait click when anyone uses her name, she is healthy now and running her best. When NC beat Taylor Roe that was awesome as I really like Taylor and NC will only get better. When they had NCAA 5k with the best 24 runners in the country Parker Valby Florida coach gave her only one advice “stay with KT” nothing else. I do wish both NC and KT to stay healthy and to push each other to break new records
