Well, after some years waiting, we finally have Octopath Traveler II with us. And it's BEAUTIFUL.
I waited until the launch day only to hear the entire version of Osvald Theme, which captured my heart from the beggining when they started releasing the OST's demos.
So I wanted to make a rendition. It's more of a replica than anything, with more amateurish sound lol

A brilliant scholar, a honest and diligent man, but most of all a loving husband and father. This is what makes Osvald such a great character. His bitterness is fully understandable, but it is not all that is to him. I loved it, when he told Harvey: "Keep my research. But why did you have to kill my wife and child?" It showed where Osvalds priorities lied. I also loved the flashback between him and Elena, where she tried to imitate him and he encouraged her.

I laughed at that part. It was so adorable. I'm just glad the child survived in the end.

@@knightartorias8755 Same. Also loved the part when Osvald decided to give her time to remember everything on her own instead of bombarding her with it. He may think otherwise (as shown in his tavern banter with Agnea and Cassti), but he is an exzellent father.

Osvald's story is an actually well-written revenge story because it addresses the 'now what?' after Osvald actually gets his revenge, which is something I find Primrose's story lacked. Also the plot twist (if you know you know) is just amazing writing-wise. Some might say Harvey is really shallow, and I agree. However, that's what I like about him. He's such an irredeemable POS (to put it lightly) and you only hate him more as the story progresses. He's one of those villains you absolutely love to hate.

I think his theme is my favorite next to Partitio's. You can just feel the half decade of anger and rage simmering in him, ready to boil over at whoever is unfortunate enough to stand between him and Harvey

Osvald was my favorite character, and his theme is absolutely awesome. Him and temenos made my team into complete gods. His voice actor did a phenomenal job. There are some remixes on Apple Music/Spotify that make this song even better.

Did you add to the song? The regular themes are like only 2 minutes and they really only loop. If you added to it, I very much commend you and appreciate it. The character themes just felt like they needed to be longer in my opinion. Looking forward to if you do the rest of the travelers

Yeah, I kind of added a bit. What I did was to replay everything again, but with different instrumentation so that I didn't have to loop it. Thanks for your words! :D

​@@TrillingDragons Yeah, despite how much I love the cello of the original, I like how the song got brighter as the song went on, interchanging the cello for a violin (or whatever you used) as well as going up to higher octaves on the piano.
