You should be careful about saying that. One of the big things about fair use is you have to be considered not to be replacing the experience of viewing the actual work. These reviews don't in my opinion, but saying something like that is a great way to potentially lose that argument.

The "gotta get out of this place" is a split thing, in my experience. For some, there were just no opportunities or social engagements that could give them the life they wanted. I'm from a town that all but died after all the factory jobs left in the 90s. You want what's best for it, but life there would be stifling. The other folks are the "this situation X sucks, it'll be so much better when I go to Y". Then, they get there, and they react the same way. Granted, a minority, but it's hard to overlook this. Where you go, there you are

I want to point out that Oculus was actually released in theaters and was a critical success. So that's something. They need to stop making their films to star Superstars™ and just bankroll smaller potential successes like Oculus. Keep the Superstars™ as far away as possible.
@OSW10 жыл бұрын
It is a much better idea, but WWE would need to *completely* bankroll films to reap the benefits. Like The Call was a hit, made over $68m in the box office but WWE only saw ~$1.3m profit. WWE films lost ten times that in 2013 alone ($12.7m)! Maybe their game plan is to lose money 20 years in a row, and then maybe they'll have made enough contacts to finance a summer blockbuster. It just seems like a vanity project, since WWE hate that it's a wrestling company.

I was with some family from Queens and we had a buffalo wing appetizer. We ordered extra hot and got barely past mild but not quite medium. My main dish was gross looking Caesar salad with grilled chicken that looked like it came out a bag in the store. WWE New York in terms of food was no different than planet Hollywood or the supermodel restaurant. Very bland food served at beyond reasonable prices. The big selling point for the spot was when superstars at that time showed up. I can now see why WWE didn't invite too many food critics there cause them folks in NY are hard to please. Amazed that shit lasted for a few years.

Brilliant synopsis of WWE Studios' illustrious history! This division is Kevin Dunn's pet project, gotta be, its existance is probably secured in his contract lol. I would venture that they truly believe, and maybe, just maybe rightly so, that one successful movie will turn it all around & they have the money to keep playing this game. That, combined with that winning movie featuring a WWE Superstar and getting him over to a Hogan/Austin level, could easily outweigh the years the shit in their minds and that wouldn't be illogical if The Marine indeed was a franchise similar to Fast N Furious, which may have made over a billion dollars legitimately.

The "SWAT guys are pushovers to put over the villains as a threat" thing has to have just been an imitation of Die Hard. I've seen it done so many times. I always felt that they made them a bit too comically bumbling in DH; but the obvious point being made is that direct confrontation is not the solution against a clever villain who planned ahead for every eventuality (except one.)

$34 million is correct. It was situated Times Square, which is incredibly expensive. It was generally empty outside of TV/PPV nights and during the day, and the manager also embezzled millions. It was a big business venture that fell on it's face. Sadly. I think it's a cool idea.
