Part 2 comparing the OT9 and OT8 versions of choruses that featured Jessica.

Everything sounded better with Sica. She's not my bias, Sooyoung is, but I think anyone can admit Jess' voice belonged in GG.

Jessica was the blueprint for SNSD's sound and image. She was the "ultra-feminine diva princess" one who could easily be a burlesque dancer OR playful and adorable.

The reason it sounds more vibrant and catchy is the colour and texture of Jessica. The one who got similar texture and colour should be Sunny and Sooyoung together. I don’t know why SM decided to use Seohyun and Tiffany’s for most of the replacement.

omg so interesting that theres 2 diff OT8 Mr Mr versions... cool seeing the diffs between yuri/tiffany vs sooyoung. i like sunnys final chorus. but jessicas voice is allll over this song and just gives the OT9 version its magical feeling nothing can beat it! still my fav gg song

I think Taeyeon shouldve been pushed back to just backing vocals for the choruses after snsd turned 8 because she overshadows the others. Jessica kept the group balanced.

definitely not just backing vocals, it wouldve sounded weaker without her. probably cutting her backing vocals (that are stacked on top of the melody) and giving them to another person wouldve balanced the sound more?

yeah you're right. When i hear Holiday i hear Taeyeon the most and a tiny bit of Seohyun. It's not balanced at all cause Taeyeon powerful voice overshadows it. However i think they managed pretty well in Forever 1, still sounds different and kinda weird but its not 90%Taeyeon sound wise like past releases imo

im still surprised some songs still have jessica's voice in the melody. it must have been difficult to remove her voice due to its prominence in the song. and mostly it's on japanese songs !! i wonder how her members feel when they still hear her voice on those songs while performing..

That's because they lipsync most of their japanese stages. But the adlibs and high notes are live

I think they change ITNW to the Ballad version because they want to keep ITNW originality meaning as their debut ot9 song. Back then, they practiced ITNW for almost 1 year to prepare their debut. Edit (2023) : They don't care anymore about it cz there are already ot8 itnw performance

OMG yeah and I was shocked about this too, when OT8 ITNW original choreo came out. I actually don't know how to feel/react, it's just that with Jessica's Bright Novel came out the same year in 2022, the feud getting worse & clearer on both sides 😔

I think one thing that is annoying about SM and SNSD in general is that, yeah despite Jessica’s departure from the group. I wish they would at least acknowledge all the hard work she put in behind the scenes of every track since their rookie days. It’s sad that Jessica herself has to say it on Strong Heart that her and TaeYeon both carried the group I’m just glad that SeoHyun and Tiffany js finally giving the opportunity to do what Jessica has always been doing for the group

It's sick for SM to blacklist her to that extent. It's not like she committed a crime. The fact the girls still cosign her being blacklisted and don't mention her really made me look at them poorly I must say. It shows their character.

thanks for putting snsd too. like i get they r fighting but to just discard any remnants of jessica in the group is so??? its not like they r not close back then. i still support snsd and their solo also jessica it just i just wish they would not cut or replace jessica part or any of her past involvement in the group

i always wonder how the girls feel lipsyncing over her voice 💀 i have such a hard time hearing sooyoung in the ot8 version of mr mr. taeyeon’s voice is so prominent quick question: i thought seohyun was in the karma butterfly choruses not sunny? amazing video as always. thank you for posting almost everyday ❤️

Thank YOU for your always lovely comments! Considering Jessica was in more OT9 choruses than any other member (fact), her vocals were used to lipsync choruses from day 1. Felipe (Lord Odin Aesir) can answer about KB

Ya know on some of these idk. I’m hearing Seohyun and/or Sooyoung or even Yuri in the background on the OT8 versions. The backgrounds are thinner and not as full

`Nothing beats OTP9 so OTP8 always feels lacking...IOn the other hand Oh!GG OTP5 does not feel lacking at all especially to fans like me who love all members equal Jessica Tiffany Seo and Sooyoung completely unbiasedly I can say Oh!GG suits GG discography than OTP8 does bc they sound complete and most similar to the harmony with Jessica in it XD so basically otp5 together sound more like otp9 than otp8...and honestly I feel like Taeyeon balancing out with Sunny equally. then Yuri Yoona close and last Hyoyeon sounds more like OTP9 than OTP8 does...SM should have totally remade their line distribution process when they kicked out Jessica bc she and Taeyeon were a perfect balance and without her it feels empty...I don't have a bias I love every member but I think they should have put Sunny to balance with Taeyeon then Seohyun and Yuri then 5th Tiffany then Yoona Soyoung and lastly Hyoyeon...SM just took the easy way and make it TTS feat Girls generation members few lines here and there...TTS is suited towards certain concepts and their voices together suit their discography but not the one of Girls generation they make Hyoyeon and her rap sound like and error in the songs instead of blending it like it did before...Don't kill me pls guys XD Fair line distribution and Sunny and the other members minus Seo and Tiff are the key to stopping our ears from searching Jessica...The other members have said it themselves they want more lines so its shitty than SM just makes TTS feat GG members instead of a new line distribution to fill in the gap Jess left to be filled in with a member who has a distinct emotional feminine elegant voice like her(Sunny)...I doubt Seo and Tiff would mind less lines...If there was an issue the group would have been gone during their debut XD
