The reason ging knew gon can be healed is due to his knowledge of the book his ancestor (don freecs) written (journey to the east book) and probably a few conversation with netero. It was mentioned that netero knew the Zoldyck family were holding a monster which is alluka in their domain who was brought by zigg zoldyck, the creature named "aye" from the dark continent.

Honestly, I wouldn't call Ging a TERRIBLE father. Yes, he left Gon with Mito, but look at how Ging lives. He isn't someone who can settle down, so to keep Gon would have meant bringing a baby on his dangerous adventures. Ging probably figured (correctly, imo) that a proper parental figure would be better, and Gon could make his own decision to be a Hunter once he was old enough. And by all of that, I mean this is one hundred percent the reasoning Ging would give if he was asked why he left Gon behind, because really, Ging just enjoys being a Hunter too much to want a kid to raise. Still, not as bad a father as some seem to think.

To heal Gon to his previous state, Nanika had to use the same amount of Nen that Gon used against Pitou. That's why the white nenwall was huge like that, it really puts into perspective how strong Gon was against Pitou.

It's not confirmed, but everything points towards Nanika being possibly one of the Ai coming over from the Dark Continent and possessing Alluka Zoldyck, down to the way Nanika says okay in the original Japanese "ai" and the identical ways they were portrayed in the manga. The Ai are called "Codependence of Desire-Gaseous Lifeforms", which would explain why Nanika/Alluka is so attached to Killua specifically and why those rules that apply to others don't apply to him. Togashi has, however, confirmed that Alluka/Nanika is the strongest specialist Nen user in the hxh world with the rank of ultimate.
