I actually love Beaststars as an exploration of power dynamics in society. And people cant get over the furry set dressing should grow up. Haru is an amazing character because she is placed in a position of weakness from the moment of her birth. Not only is she tiny in general but she's a rabbit - on of the weakest animals. So later on when you lean that her way of taking hack power and control in her life is through sex....yeah thats actually realistic writing. And at the end of season 1 when the lion boss tries so shame her by stripping her naked, she laughs and refuses to be broken down because promiscuity might not be socially acceptable but its her thing, its her way of fighting back against the lable society has given her as food. Beaststars is an amazing show that people who are too immature bash and play right into the commentary of the show itself.

The way beastars use species for allegory is less specific. It’s set up to create stories about prejudice by creating a divide between groups rather than carnivores or herbivores being equivalent to any real life group. For example Haru’s story being about how women are sexualized for most of their lives and then ridiculed and demonized when they explore sexuality with no proper guidance. And the feeling of always being prey. Legosi’s story about controlling other people’s perception of him to come off as less intimidating and weaker than he actually is. He hates and fears parts of himself that he has no control over. Eventually coming to accept them. This can be used as an allegory for both race and gender identity. But of course in universe it’s not. It’s about herbivores and carnivore. Herbivores have a real reason to fear carnivores. And carnivores have to live with the fact half of the population hates them and they have to eat other people to live healthy lives. They didn’t ask to be born cannibals and herbivores didn’t ask to be born “weak”. And the story is about how even with these horrible differences they can still overcome it even if it’s really really hard. The allegory is a lot more flexible than a lot of other similar stories both in universe and when it comes to discussions outside of it.

yeah the way Beastars' (as well as Beast Complex) characters exist within the world allows the setting to be used for pretty much any kind of 'divide between groups' narrative imaginable, which is really interesting. Imo it's what makes Beastars stand out from other 'animal discrimination' narratives to me (those other stories are good too, but most of them are pretty much exclusively a direct allegory for racism, or occasionally sexism)

I think one of the main things with Daima was an omage to Toriama and all his work so if you have seen blue dragon played it or any of his other creations there are a lot of that in Daima. i only watch oshi no ko and know bits of the manga including a bit of the ending so it alleged incest on my end and as for creature commandos I’ll agree the first two episodes were wildly horny in the two sex scenes, it’s only just two episodes so far so maybe they’ll dial it back a bit or dive right on in because the episodes are done and are being released weekly also I haven’t watched beastars just hear talks about it and when these two talk about it but I feel animals getting it on is gonna happen because in the animal world they don’t really care about age the way humans do
