In retrospect, Natalia's "I'd die for that kid", comment about Emma, I believe really got Olivia's feelings towards her rolling. The door gesture really accelerated Natalia's feelings towards Olivia. I'd never seen this clip before. It really was pretty monumental in the Otalia relationship.

2nd fav scene- exchanging of gifts. just wow. oliva gave nat a piece of her cherish past/home/family. and nat gave oliv the keys/hope for a future home/family. both gave what each other have crave all their lives; security, happiness, family and love. and emma was completely soaking in the looks that was oblivious to nat/oliv. little jellybean was beaming with happiness. also luv when otalia clink their cookies. it was like they were christening/toasting to their new home/life. lovely christmas

God, I love this episode!! one of my all time favorites!! who am I kidding, I say that for every single episode, but because it's the truth. I can't believe how this show has managaed to make one flawless, amazing episode after another for a year now!!! Otalia, the best sl ever written and performed!! Still blows me away!!

They are also using the Christmas trees as a metaphor for Olivia's perspective on life and love. She brought in the brash looking artifical tree signifiing all the pretense and facade that was a big part of her life up til now. Then the realness of Nat's love and support helped her to feel safe and secure and allowed her to drop the artifice. ....Or maybe I'm just reading WAY too into the Christmas tree senario!!

two favorites scenes: 1st- where olivia desperately ask nat "why does she care?" its the same way she did in the hospital but nat didnt say anything. it was like she was hesitating. and oliv pick up on that. but this time, nat shouted out "id die for that kid". oliv wasnt expecting her to do that. and olivia heard what she wanted. nat will be there for her and her daughter forever. and thats important in/for a single family. knowing the person expects you and your kids.

Nat's gift to Emma was so loving - a family gift. Liv's gift makes me want to cry. She has money enough to buy diamonds, but spent it on something that has no monetary value. This is the true redemption of Olivia.

@mmwhite67 i think the writers also used emma as a way for nat and liv to express feelings about each other before they were really aware of what those feelings were. i don't doubt that natalia would die for emma, but in that moment, i don't think emma is the only one she's talking about.

I love this episode. I think this where Natalia is somewhat slightly aware that she is falling in love with Olivia, even though she spends a lot of time trying to cover/ hide it. Natalia's re-gifting of the house keys kind of says it all.

@rainbowpride76 i dunno. nat looks over at liv as emma's reading the inscription and there's a flicker of something more than just "i hope you like what i wrote." it lasts a beat too long. i think the way liv looks at her are a little more obvious, but natalia is definitely feeling more than friendship, even if she doesn't recognize it.

Liv was unpacking boxes and ran across natalia box of memories...she pulled an address from a letter i think in the items inside the box. Liv paid to get this item removed and shipped. week of Dec. 18-23 is when it aired i think

i miss it like no tommorrow and sigh because the s/l of over a year of growing love just ended so...without all the things a couple should share! A race w/o the Gold Medal! Years ago on ATWT, meg ryan & a dark haired actor had major drawnout lovestory! They went thru lots of stuff after they put them together. the fans stayed dedicated because of the writing! otalia would have been forever one of the best if not for same sex discrimination in media!
