does any1 notice that when she starts putting the roses on Gus's grave, she first places 3, 2 tall(representing her an Natalia) and a 3rd one shorter(representing Emma)...gotta love the symbolism here:-) I cant believe how much this storyline has pulled me in...WOW!:-) amazing

Me too. I wish we had a thread to talk specifically about how this storyline dovetails with our own stories -- I never thought a soap opera would have me reflecting on my own life, would provide me with insights about my own behavior. THANK YOU, GL!!! Thank you CC and JL; thank you Otaliafan.

The WRITING for Otalia is just so fraking amazing! Seriously... Every single scene, the subtext, and each character's journey, and not just Nat's and Liv's, but Buzz and Frank's as well. I love how Natalia's love and faith changed Olivia, and she couldn't have said it better.

"Do you love her enough to let her go?" Wow. Buzz is actually questioning if Frank loves Natalia like he knows Olivia does. Frank does -not- love Natalia enough to let her go. He freaks the HELL out when Buzz even hints at it. Both he and Nat are grasping at an idea, a concept of love that they so very very much want... that they're pretending exists.

I don't believe the feelings Olivia developed for Natalia came from Gus's heart at all. Like happens quite often, those who died get a "free pass" on a lot of things cause of respect for the dead. Watch the episode with Gus' last thoughts as he slipped away. He called Harley the love of his life and even wondered where his relationship with Olivia might have gone with more time. Gus and Natalia's marriage seemed to be unraveling before the accident if anything.

ok first, i love that buzz asks from if he "loves her enough to let her go". because he knows that is EXACTLY what olivia is doing which means she truly does love her. and i have a feeling buzz might think that olivia is actually better for nat than his own son haha. second, olivia, if you know nat feels the same way about you, and can plainly see how somber she has been re wedding stuff, why do you think sentencing her to an unwanted life is good for her??? miserable housewife is a good thing?

I've been thinking about this. It seems, anyway, given this storyline -- I mean, even an EMMY would really not cut it. I'm thinking maybe we should go all out and present the entire team, not just CC but the writers, everyone, with something, some new award -- we KNOW this is the most real, most well-written, the most respectful, the most un-sensationalized/non-commodified relationship between two women on TV. And friends OR lovers! I mean, they just don't show deep friendship between women!
