I'm addicted to Otalia, and this is one of my absolute favorite "scene". The way Olivia (CC) looks at Natalia(JL) in the mirror is just completely mesmerizing!! Man, to have someone look at you like that!!!

Absolutely no comparison, thank God and the good people of the Guiding Light. I know we all would love to bask in the presence of CC and JL, but I also would really love to meet the other women who've brought us this story -- it's gotta be their story in some fashion, Ellen Wheeler's and other people on the production team. One reason I am so grateful for the Otalia clips (thanks, Otaliafan!) is that one second viewing, one can glean so much more about the s/l, and sometimes what one sees on repeated viewings is different from what was apparent the first time around. When I watched the broadcast, this scene seemed rather flat, and unemotive. (I know, what am i, blind?!) But watching the clips, there is -- as you've all expressed -- so much going on with CC's and JL's facial expressions.

Yes, you are right! That is one of my favorite pieces of literature of all time & probably my favorite story in the bible. "Entreat me not to leave thee, and to return from following after thee, for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God" It just gives me chills every time I hear it! Ironic, though, how this is used both in GL with the Otalia and in Fried Green Tomatoes with Ruth and Idgie. Okay, not that ironic...

Haven't seen this in quite a while.....oh Otalia I so miss you..... bittersweet. An addicting story truncated too soon. This is one of their most lovely scenes, written and performed before the cancellation, but aired a few days after the announcement. Just lovely ladies, this story and you're performances will always be remembered.

The mirror scene is one of the most romantic pieces of drama also.. and it is so sad that they are torturing themselves but they also are not just affraid of what other people will think they are affraid to even admit there feelings to themselves let alone each other..its sad it takes them so long to finally admit how they feel and then the stuff they go threw after is so sad but nobody said love was easy if it was it would be boring.

Of course,that's all tongue in cheek!^^ I feel, that "the Lesbian movement"has been founded on a strong feminist movement, which I am eternally grateful for.However,I feel, the community lacks an openess and flexibility as people are more outspoken about their idea of gender.I have seen so much discrimination and hate towards trans in particular,that I have distanced myself.For me a human is a human,and that belief defines me more than my sexuality.I'm sad about this,but still very grateful:-)

Olivia rendered speechless! Who would've thought? Not one word after "You're beautiful." Whenever we get the next kiss (b/c u know we will) I think it's going to be in this same mode...very quiet and romantic. CC continues to keep me in heat. She is freakishly talented. I am so useless today! I just keep wanting to watch this clip. The way Olivia puts that cover over Nat's shoulder is so... perfect. I never thought putting fabric on a shoulder could look so romantic. The close-hand scene at the beginning sooo looks like Natalia wanted to grab Olivia's hand and tell her to shut up with all the wedding crap. I don't usually *thud*, but this clip is quite *thud* inducing. Translation of Nat's last line: "I don't know how to tell you how much I love you."

I love how Otalia mentally prepares herself for Natalia in her wedding dress at 1:51, then just gives up pretense and lets herself show how she feels - both in the "you're beautiful" comment and when they look in the mirror together. There is no way Natalia doesn't know by now how her friend feels.

I soo agree!!! This episode it was really clear that Nat doesn't want to be married, and that Otalia could definately have a chance with time on their side. Yet, with Olivia pushing Nat to move on her wedding, what is Nat supposed to think? They both know each other's feelings, but until said outloud, denial is such an easy way to go. I think Liv is pushing Nat because the quicker Nat is married the quicker Liv thinks her feelings will stop, and Nat will be happy and no longer confused.

OMG, if Olivia wanted to have Natalia fall head over heals in love with her she did the perfect thing! The most romantic gesture ever is to have an assortment of beautiful dresses held back and tell a Fem you'll buy the one of her choosing! If Oliva said "You're Beautiful" to me with those amazing eyes of hers I would be a puddle on the floor! She was emoting so much passion and desire during these scenes, that I became heady and short of breath even though she had few lines! OMG how Romantic!

i have absolutely no problem with no labels, though interestingly i think i've heard the word lesbian/gay more from the characters than i've heard it in the purple world. the writers are doing a brilliant job... i have no problems with the story. i'm also extremely grateful for what the BPD crew does. my problem is with the tippy-toe discussion around it. i.e. shh, don't say "it" so we don't give the haters fodder. catering to the haters shows we value their opinion--it makes them the boss.
