Wow... It is 2020 and I still cry every time I watch this clip. How many people do you know that would give up their own dreams and happiness for someone else. That is a huge sacrifice. That is true love! Crystal Chappell is fabulous. They really do make a great couple. I wish they were still working together.

She realized it. She wanted to be with Olivia. Olivia was the one putting the brakes on Otalia becoming romantic partners & she kept pushing Frank & Natalia to marry.

There's nothing funny about this scene. They are heartbroken, trying to do what they think is the right thing. Natalia is shooting down Olivia's reasons for why they can't be together. The most heartbreaking & beautiful part to me is where Olivia says, "And I can give you a home. But it can never be as safe and secure as Frank can give you." That ripped my heart out. Natalia says, "Safe isn't the most important thing." It's gut-wrenching.

Just want to reiterate that from the confession forward, it's NATALIA who pursues Olivia, even despite much hostility from Rafe, guilt about Frank, and pressure from Father Ray. While Olivia has been met with only support from others (up to this point, although Rafe will be a hateful ass to her once he discovers it, and Frank also gives her grief); Natalia is faced with only resistance and ZERO support. Even Doris just lays guilt on her for dumping Frank. After the crisis that makes Natalia leave town, once she deals with the new information she receives and makes a decisions that she wants to be with Olivia for the rest of her life, she becomes even MORE aggressive in pursuing Olivia. But Natalia was ready for a relationship with Olivia from the time of the near kiss in the hospital and the only reason she was marrying Frank is because Olivia was pushing her to do so. Olivia walks away from Natalia at the end of the gazebo scenes. She is hostile toward Natalia when Natalia comes to the hotel room and then at Emma's school, when Natalia finally gets a backbone again & MAKES Olivia listen to her. It's not until Natalia puts her hand on Olivia's when they are sitting in the church and Natalia is praying that Olivia finally gets a big smile on her face and starts to become comfortable with them becoming a couple.

It's July 2022 and I'm watching their full story again plus lots of early scenes I'd never seen. (Someone is uploading the whole story in 5 parts with each part being 4-5 hours long. It starts way back when Gus was alive, & so far they have Part 3 uploaded, which ends with the kiss.) I've also been listening to the BPP podcasts again, watching music vids, watching Venice S6 bloopers w/ Crystal & Jessica (HILARIOUS!), & watching the interview w/ CC & JL on the LadyParts channel. (I had saved my fave music vids & the podcasts to my computer back in 2009-2010.)

What an amazing confession extremely heartfelt and full of emotion. Having to admit that you love someone is somewhat hard but this was bottled up so long that it just came out like a roar of thunder. Don't know if I will ever say those words to anyone again but I am sure it will be like this confession.

Olivia wakes up to stop her & told Doris she was glad she stopped it. When O gets back home, she tells N she thinks she should marry Frank. Olivia KNOWS that Natalia loves her AND that she's attracted to her. She told the bartender that. These 2 took forever to get to a point where one OR THE OTHER of them wasn't dragging their heals or outright avoiding any conversation about their feelings.

Man, IDK why O was so determined to have Natalia marry Frank! She & Emma could have just moved out of the farmhouse & left Natalia to be free to meet a man she really loved. It just made no sense that this wedding got this far in the first place. And Natalia clearly feels uncomfortable around Frank. How could they ever be happy?! That marriage would have been doomed to make them both miserable.

A similar situation happened on the UK Soap Opera Emmerdale. Leah Bracknell who played Zoe Tate from 1989-2006 was about to commit to her Girlfriend Emma Nightingale, in a "Blessing". This was before Same Sex Marriages were recognized. Emma's Ex Girlfriend Suzi told her that she loved her. Things didn't work out with Emma and she dated Suzi who also left. Leah was one of the first Lesbian Characters in UK Soap History as well as Anna Friel who played Beth on Brookside which is no longer on the Air. However The First Same Sex Kiss took place with a Teleplay simply called "Girl" where A Young Lady falls in love with a Military Soldier. Alot of UK Soap Fans loved Otalia and as many of you know alot of US Soap Fans watch UK Soaps. Boy can Natalia tell that Olivia is "Lying".
