Great videos Mate. I’m using a fixed spool and am an otg caster, getting around 125 metres with bait on at my best!! I’ve seen your video explaining the various weights and lines for competitive distance casting but would love to know what mono lines are the best for competitive casting? I’m currently fishing (not competitive casting) with varivas yellow sport and asso ultra cast. From what I’ve read, mono line with low memory casts better, and is there anyone you know that casts big distances with fixed spool that can recommend a mono? Thanks Steve

A lot of people use sakuma nte crystal or asso torneo or ultia distance. Good work!

Hey.. Been trying out the 7HT..first time on..3 Mt rod/120gm...only got one brake block.. Spool just about no end play.. Blimey it flies.. Only problem is over runs.. Trying to watch the lead.. But it going far, even added a ribbon to it.. What's the trick on knowing when to stop spool? Getting near 150 mts.. I can see this getting expensive

Good for you! After 3 or 4 secs just put some very light thumb pressure on spool to anticiapte it landing. As soon as its on its way look at spool and get ready to stop asap! Problem is reactions get slower the older ya get ha ha. Just need to be really quick

@@djrmonix Ha.. Yeh reaction time. Got more brake blocks in post and bearings.,so one will slow it down and the other speed it up . Is it ok to wind in the end float just hold it back a bit or will it do damage? Cheers

On a 7ht its ok to tighten down left end cap a bit on end of spindle. Wouldnt go crazy tight as could bend spindle. 2 large red daiwa break blocks shoudl be very safe.
