Excellent tutorial, however it is important to note that the subtraction of values is also done in the base you are working in. So say you are working any division question in saayyy.... base 8. if the remainder after a subtraction is "1" and you carry down another "1" you will get "11". If you then continue dividing and get a "7" under that "11" that you need to subtract.. (11-7), the answer isn't 4. you will need to subtract "7" base 8 from "11" base 8 in order to get the correct answer. (TL;DR) all operations are done in the base you are dividing with

Hi from watching your video I thought I had the method of formulated a base table down but now I am not sure. I am dividing 2 base 3 divided by 122 base 3. I started off with trying to calculate a chart for base 3. I got the 2 base 3 x 0 base 3=0 ...however when I got to 2 base 3 x 2 base 3 I got 14. I asked myself how many groups of 3 were in 2x2. 1 group of 3 with 1 left over. Is that correct?

Right, 14 is no good because you only have as many symbols as the number base you are using. 0 and 1 for base2..... 0, 1 and 2 for base3...... 0, 1, 2 and 3 for base4.... and so on. For 2x2=4base10 start counting 0, 1, 2... out of symbols so roll over to 1 set of 3 and 0 singles or “10” now we have one left, add that to our single colum and we have “11”. So 2x2=11base3
