The change of pace while using the Fretsaw (even tho it’s more closely a scroll saw in my opinion) from the older craftsman to the young and obviously eager apprentice was a wonderful thing to see and listen to.

Wow, and that’s the way it was done when u learned a trade. I remember I wanted or well thought about being a chef when I graduate from HS n 1972, I did not hear of culinary schools, and not n my area, so I went to a fancy restaurant and spoke to the chef and he explained how u became a chef...he said I would be an apprentice for 7 years, then a journey man chef n France and then and only then we’re u allowed to test for a Chef. Now kids go to culinary schools and get out in 2 years and expect 2 b paid hundreds of thousand dollars , yet they have no experience...so I do not and will not watch shows that have 20 year old kids, telling me how to cook. I’m a gr8 cook and even a better baker but it has taking me a lifetime of 50 years of practice after watching my mom for the first 14 years of my life, then she allowed me to cook...well some...lol

I started cabinet making when I was 5 and by 15 years of age I was considered a cabinetmaker but I was not a master at that age and another 10 would have been needed to have achieved that. Once governments started to regulated trades and push the idea of government apprenticeships kids started to think they were master tradesmen once they finished short 4 year training programing. There is simply no way a person could learn a trade in a college.

Bemerkenswert - ein top Handwerker und Künstler - mit Anzug und Krawatte - in Deutschland eher unüblich
