Thoughts on small run lathe cut vinyl? I don't have a lot of fans but the few I do are hardcore. I think they would be willing to pay the extra cost for a limited run.

Great question. I don't think there's any room for profit in lathes, it would mostly be for promotion purposes, and to appease select fans. Most cutters have a maximum amount of units because it's such an involved process. If you were to do artwork and packaging, I think the cost per unit would be close to $50, so that means you'd have to sell to fans at cost or with a narrow margin of $5-$10, on only a handful of units. Lathes are great though for other reasons, just not a way to generate any significant revenue imo.

@@OtherRecordLabels thanks for the quick response, yeah I wasn't planning on making a profit because of cost but wanted something for the bandcamp page since my ep is getting played on one of the biggest black metal promo channels. Love your channel and thanks for all the great advice
