Gone 53 years today but never never forgotten! I love all your songs Otis! You had a voice from Heaven, but this is my favorite of all those songs you left behind. I have heard other artists do it, but none give it the feel that you do. You are telling these guys how to court their ladies the right way. Love you Otis Redding!!!

I just love this song and Otis Redding. That footage of Cass Elliott at 0:42 made me smile. She seemed to be such a wonderful lady.

what a great question! Otis Redding and Jimi Hendrix on the same stage at the same time. I love it. Both amazing eh. I love rock music but am quickly getting into this guy Otis Redding. What a voice. I think they may have come here to London? I hope so. I heard they were very well received. And of course no appalling racism for him to deal with. Bless this genius.

FIrst time I ever heard this song I was around 12 years old. My mum bought a turntable and I got to listen to the awesome vinyl records my dad had. One was a Monterrey record with a huge crack that only allowed me to listen to the last track of both sides. ONe side was Jimi Hendrix playing Wild thing, the other was this exact song. I kept turning the record over and over and placing the needle on the last track. I still have the record.

I was lucky enough to be there at the definition of soul. I spotted myself here in an audience shot. I'm in a booth wearing a pink, flowered hat. I still own that vintage hat. I'm 66 now, but you can't take the hip out of the hippie. Cyndi Lauper just killed this same tune at the White House. What a legacy. buckfan1969 they were the best backup band in the world! I used to see them all the time in Memphis. And after that band broke up, he and Willie Hall and Duck Dunn used to play every Sunday p.m. at an East Memphis bar called Louie's. A local guy, Randy Haspell (of Randy and the Radiants) used to sing with them. Great memories.

This is kinda infuriating because I turned this on because I wanted to SEE and hear Otis, not a bunch of random stoned hippie chicks. Pennebaker was trying to make this an interpretive video demonstrating all the lyrics and it's annoying not entertaining.
