Thanks friend. I appreciate you watching. My apologies for the buffering issues these past two weeks. I'm hoping it works tomorrow. Silly Xfinity

I found your stuff way back when, before I literally knew nothing about music. I listened to your songs and went "damn, what is this sound?" And got major into funk from then on. I'm 17 now, I've picked up bass, piano and guitar and if I had enough room I'd have a drumset as well. Once quarantine is over I'll be 18 and all set to do some gigs with a few musicians down here and I just wanna say thanks for that. You were a huge inspiration for me back when I first started composing and still are.

That sample is clean, but you put the appropriate amount of stank on it. Love it.

Love that B section. Funny that's how my band ends up making stuff where we have 2 absolute slaying sections and then realize it's gonna take some serious work to glue them together! :D

I used to do this on FL Studio 6. I stopped making music for 3 years until I could realise/study what Dilla was doing with his sound. When I returned that shi** was off the hook! I’m so glad I found this. It has certainly inspired me to come back to the beats.

DAMN!! I hate I missed this the day it came out... As an old head, i'll say funk is becoming somewhat of a lost art. I'm so glad there are artists out like you keeping it alive. Great stuff Otis!

coolio. I agree, it's much better when it's condensed. However, the Live Stream schedule is what keeps me doing these on a consistent basis. And the energy from the live comments helps inform what I end up making. It's never planned. I'm just finding something new on camera and letting you into my process. :-)

Hello! I use Ableton live and I was wondering how you chop up the sample and put the chopped-up bits on different keys on your midi keyboard. How?
@OtisMacMusic Жыл бұрын
I use Serato Sample. Makes it super fast and easy. You can also use Ableton's Simpler plugin, but I'm dialed in with the Serato Sample workflow.
