Oto Boum Presets Test

This video shows Boum's factory presets on a drum loop.
I am almost just playing with the "Mix knob" so you can compare between dry and wet.
Of course when there is much more parameters to tweak but this is not the purpose here.
Drum loop is "909 Fat Bloke" factory kit from N.I Maschine,.
There are 12 factory presets, they are named in the user manual so if you can check by yourselves if you want to.
As you can see with lighting leds, upper line is for the bank and the led one below corresponds to the preset number (so first led for the first preset, second led for the second preset, and so on).
The Boum can store 36 presets.

@@moana-gamba Oto Boum on order. I have enough fx with two Eventide H9'S, and an old Alesis NanoComp on drum bus, but need an Oto Boum for overall colouring.

girl in a gale Great ! You won’t regret the Boum, I didn’t showed in my videos but you can change the input gain for more impact, it’s a beast that need some tweak in ordre to find the sweet spot !

@@moana-gamba Oto Boum is the closest thing to a mastering device for live electronic music I saw on a Stimming set (Cercle channel). He had the compressor, eq, filter unit custom built. I shall put Boum in mixer aux send so it can treat drums/bass but also samples/keys and Moog Mothers, as required.

Awesome! Great to hear these presets. I had a question about the level knob. Is it the overall output volume? If turned fully counter-clockwise is it silent?

The level knob affects the wet signal volume, not the dry signal. So if turned fully counter wise you will only have the dry signal. This allows to make fine adjustments for parallel kind of processing.

Trying to decide whether to put Boum in aux send of mixer so any instrument can be put through it, or on mixer main output. Think aux sends will be more performative.

Depends what the purpose is. If you want to use it just to touch certain sounds in the mix, using channel aux send and return is cool. If you send the total mix through it you can use it as a part of the master audio chain. This thing is capable to do both.
