I was at this event, you sat next to me and my dad in the stands at the end of esses coming onto the straight, I got really badly sun burnt so missed the second day. Took awhile for judges in Australia to work out that passing someone wasn't a good thing and Robbie Bolger was known for pretty much just ramming people off the track to pass them lol

@@VideosbyBenEllis you held the fwd (i think, or at least high up ) back then as printed on the last page of the HPI mags. What was the final turbo spec mate? Did you end up with cams and head work? i remember you ran either a Subaru based tdo4 or VF series with like 160kw @ wheels early on. Hoosier slicks too from memory. Mine has a TRD LSD. i remember (Hot4s or HPI) you saying that was a big deal.

@@bradhackett9103 stock head and cams, fitted forged pistons after we cracked ringlands on the stockies. Turbo was an SR20 T25 which we were told was an HKS 2510 but later we found it was just a T25 with an HKS compressor cover. Ran about 18psi boost and made 125kW at the wheels. Later added a better intercooler and got up to 134kW to run 12.5 at 104mph I think. Had 20x8 M/T slicks on 13x6 Watanabes. TRD LSD worked a treat, as did Whiteline suspension. The car was very light too, a lot taken out and race seats

@@VideosbyBenEllis It was well before footage on phones lol. That's impressive! i bought this thing with dyno dynamics sheets of 254hp. It turns out old mate that owned it had cooked it somehow. Doing a 4efte build in the future, but i've bought a guys frankenstein 5e N/A setup with cams that we're throwing the turbo setup on. E85 and a Haltech and limit boost to 18psi should see 220hp at the wheels. praying for the rods!
