I agree with this completely! WHO'S THE TRUE FUCKING MARKS? Jim Cornette once said that Dutch Mantell (Zeb Colter) had one of the best lines in wrestling, "I like the business a lot better when the marks are out front in the seats." The true marks in the wrestling business, sometimes, are the fuckers in the damn ring.

Regis Rodriguez I agree, as causal fans don't go out of their way to track down dirt sheets. Only hardcore fans do that. Many of those hardcore fans aren't even smarks. Though I will say that reading dirt sheets does take the fun out of wrestling and causes you to over analyze a bunch of shit that doesn't really matter. Which is why I stopped reading them. Most of those that try to pass themselves off as legitimate news are bullshit anyways.

I think it's a mixed bag. Clearly there's people behind the scenes that don't know what many fans want. But on the other end of that, there's many fans who don't know what they want themselves. Internet fans change their minds all the time, I don't think many of them have a true idea of what they actually want from WWE and that's why it's so much easier for them to never be happy, bitch and complain and treat wrestling with so much disrespect. They ruin the business just as much as writers and bookers do.

The internet has been a blessing and a curse for the wrestling business. Blessing because you have a way of expressing your view of everything and you have the opportunity to look at other companies that are not seen directly on tv. You also have a way to showcase other things like blogs, video game Caws, and other things. Curse: Dirthsheets, spoilers, pirating, downloading past ppvs and matches. Over criticizing the business using blogs and websites to the fact they have become obsess with it and it's causing the companies to adjust by it and it's only made things worse. The business has become too electronically. I think they need to stop acknowledging social websites during tv shows, because it's causing companies not to advertise properly and promote their stars. If your having a show in a local area and you're posting flyers more on facebook than the nearest places where your show is going to take place is a horrible way to market your product. If you're having a show in some country bumpkin town in Mississippi what good is it for people who live in Boston or Portland?

The WWE is likely killing their product to keep the industry manageable and never allow any real competition. Vince fears nothing more than another wcw. It is why cena will remain on top, he is a 'WWE lifer'.

Dial up didn't allow ppl to get information as fast as cable internet so early 2000s is where it started to decline. A business based on kayfabe is hard to succeed when people blatantly undermine the story lines by spoiling all the behind the scenes stuff.

Names that played a part in ruining Pro Wrestling: Hulk Hogan(not putting over people, his part in the end of WCW, Starrcade 97, not passing the torch to Bret Hart at SS 93, TNA. Eric Bishoff & Vince Russo; WCW & Part of TNA, HHH; Burying people, hogging the spotlight, making himself "Better then everyone else". John Cena; still can't get the crowd behing him, still can't cut great promos, only attracts 1 group of people for those who wanna say the girls how many hot girls do you see in the crowd nun. Stephanie McMahon; everything that was said in the vid. Dusty Rhodes; Dusty finishes and hurting the JCP. Jeff Jarrett; the potential of TNA Dixie Carter; how she ran/runs TNA and most of all Vince McMahon; he lets this shit on WWE go on he has no1 to blame but himself.
