OTTER VORTEX PRO LODGE - UNBOXING & FIRST TIME SET UP!

I just picked up the new Otter Vortex Pro Lodge and this is my first time setting it up. This new Otter Vortex Pro Lodge with a full door will be great this ice fishing season! Looking forward to getting out and doing come ice fishing in this new thermal hub!

*Great lightweight shelter. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s love how it blocks the light from outside. It was a pain to open the first time but now that it is broke in goes up easy..*

Not surprised Otter took Eskimos approach with the walk through door. They’re amazing. Had my 650XD out for the first time this weekend. Great shack

I don't understand why no one wanted to do this "no trip" entry door to begin with? I specifically bought the Eskimo 650xd because it had the no trip door. It's nice to see other companies are starting to go this route or at least offer this option.

I want the Resort bc it is six sides and the sides are shorter than the cabin and the lodge yet it is over 100sf.

You said you had a small Eskimo before this 1A non insulated one . You're not comparing apples to apples when you say better than your other one If you were to check out Eskimos 650xd with full door I'm sure you have fell in love with it. It's bad ass.

Question: In my well researched opinion Otter is one of the best Shelters out there, son's with Eskimo and Clam. I do have a question are the zippers YKK and what number are they? I'm assuming they're YKK but I want to know for sure I don't see any pictures anywhere. The only company I found that is very proud of their zippers, -the fact that they use heavy duty YKK zippers is Eskimo of course they have a lot of shelters I understand. But I still don't like them as much as I like Otter but I want to know on the zippers thank you very much I appreciate it.

Originally was gonna get a clamx400 but the supplier wasn’t sure when they were getting stock from Clam. So went with this instead! All worked out for the better on the end, pretty happy with this shelter!

The otter and the bag are far superior to any Eskimo. Trust me I own the non pro version of this and otter is the only brand I'll buy for hubs.

I've the new Eskimo 650 outbreak I have absolutely no complaints have had 4 overnights And have had absolutely no problems

I ended up getting the 650XD. Love it so far! Had it out for the first time this weekend. Not surprised otter stole the walkthrough door concept! Best thing to hit the hub design since they came out!!

I got one too but return it due to the poles on the ceiling flex too much. Seem like that's an manufacturing error with these hub. Amazing hub, sadly I can't wait for otter to replace it with the right size pole. Back to eskimo.

They forgot my poles for the door in the bag. I got the pegs but i didnt get that smaller package with the orange poles

Any update on the shelter after having and using it for awhile? Another channel showed he had to return it after a foot issue and Otter did not give him a response after he tried to contact them. Thanks!

Almost 2022 and people are still using sunflowers. Hate hearing about people passing due to using heaters without built in safety mechanisms.

Saw lots of bad reviews do you still like it after one year, any trouble? You didn't answer so I bought it anyway fantastic tent but smaller than I thought so trying to trade up.

I just picked one up tonight myself. Overall I impressed but it seems like a couple poles are to long and are bowed a lot more than others. When I use the straps to strap them I feel like they’re going to rip off the gray fabric. I’m sure I can file them down myself. My big concern however, when I’m inside looking at the patterns in the silver material I can see what appears to be darker material in tiny dots. You didn’t notice any of those on yours? Jeremy, when i made the video i didn't notice that some of the poles bowed a bit more then others until i was all packed up and editing and watching the clips., lol i am going to set it up again and take a closer look. hope you have a good ice fishing season and thanks for watching!

I brought it back to cabelas and exchanged it. The poles on the new one are a lot better. But I still see some of the same issues in the insulation only this time it’s on the ceiling and not a side panel. When I showed the gentlemen working what I had going on he didn’t think it was right either. There’s no way to know if it’s ok or not till it snows on the roof. May I exchange it again and third times the charm? Lol. Thanks for the reply. I’m assuming I’m seeing thru the silver liner, thru the insulation and seeing the dark grey outer shell..

Just an update. I did pick up a third one. This one had the same issue and also had a torn carrying bag. I just got my money back and will wait or go elsewhere and buy one. All 3 that I purchased were from cabelas in Woodbury mn. Assuming the whole batch they received is bad. I reached out to otter after the first one and still no reply. Good luck out there!

@@mylesjoly2914 yes i did set it up one mroe time in the backyard to see about the poles and they all seemed ok after using the velcro straps. i am planning on doing a trip to the ice this weekend! i have heard that some people are having issues with this hub. i guess time will tell.
