Now that Abia state has become the shining light of the Southeast and Nigeria, they want to dent its growing local and international reputation. Abians should resist the bad actors. Just yesterday, I met an Asian nurse at a Texas Hospital in Plano, Texas. He recounted the time he lived and worked at a Shoe factory in Aba. He said nice things about Aba... how foreigners from across the world were working in the Aba. He called Aba the Taiwan of Africa. I was amazed at his knowledge of the city and Nigeria in general. Aba suffered neglect in the hands of past administrations. Now that Gov. Alex Otti is working tirelessly to make Abia conducive for business with a view to attract investors to the state, the enemies of the state have decided to sabotage his effort. They will fail. I like his approach to swiftly intervene and restore order. This may have stopped the military from resorting to harsh retaliatory attacks in Aba. Alex Otti is a smart, effective, and compassionate leader. God bless and preserve him for the people of Abia state and Nigeria in general.

Granting generous scholarships to the victims' survivors was a humane and proper thing to do. Offering a 25 Million Naira Bounty to apprehend the so-called "perpetrators" of the crime was also a diplomatic thing to do. All well and good. Nevertheless, Gov. Alex Otti should not only remain steadfast in using his "executive powers" to ensure the military does not continue to arrest everybody - innocent men, women and children they see, loading them unto trucks and carting them away to unknown destinations, but he must, without equivocating, demand that every person whom the army have already apprehended should be unconditionally released immediately to their own families, unharmed. That is the essence, and meaning of justice and equity.
