First succesful flight with a glider device with vip goverment officials as witnesses: 1883 by Pedro Coll Font, El Calvario Park, Caracas. Official Gazette N° 3078 granted the first aeronautical patent, dated 17 Oct., 1883. After Lilienthal's flight Font Coll wrote to a french newspaper claiming it was not the first flight but his message fell into deaf ears of course, european false protagonism came first.
