Answer: "Otto, a mortal and sinful man." Only now, the entry granted.

As the Capucine brothers mention, this ceremony is a legend, as there is no historical evidence at all, that it was ever done in the past. But for Empress Zita and for Otto, they did it at their funeral - as the House of Habsburg highly supports the message. While the Vault is not yet completely occupied (there is still at least one vacant spot), it's not certain this ceremony will be done again - so we can be happy that both times were recorded for history .

@PRINCE KRAZIE: That goes for any Kingdom or Empire, but unlike some, quite a few were caring benevolent rulers. His farther though known for crushing rebellions did care for his subjects and reportedly wept at the losses he heard of during World War One. No less was seen in his son. Which many as you can see in other segments of his funeral are seen. As for “ridiculous rules for girls” well the same standards where seen for men as well. Look at the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. As for notable and beloved hapsburg rulers, look at Maria Theresa and Franz Joseph. Ironically it was also Franz Ferdinand who wanted to give more autonomy to a very multi-ethnic empire. To an extent so did Franz Joseph yet also feared too much which would end up fracturing the empire. Contrary to much belief, quite a majority supported the empire especially in the Balkans. Anti-Serbian riots shook across Bosnia Herzegovina, with many Croatians (or could also be Slovenians) being the first join the call to arms during World War One. In the 1930s there were preparations to restore the monarchy in Austria to strenghten it's stability and independence against nazi Germany. According to Otto the deal was set and things were well underway when the Wermacht invaded. There is a reason why the codename of the Anschluss was Operation Otto.
@LightgreenLP2 ай бұрын
Chancellor Kurt von Schuschnigg was a monarchist, and so was president Wilhelm Miklas. They prepared the restoration of the monarchy, but because of foreign pressure they couldn't finish their work
@istoppedcaring620929 күн бұрын
that could be but most austrians at that time were pro anschluss. Austria had suffered greatly since ww1 and it did grant austrians access to an industrial economy, at that time the mask had not yet fallen off, many foreigners traveled to nazi germany and were positive about it but that was offcourse largely because the rot within was conceiled by a socio economic policy that had a good deal of merit, maybe had they not been such autoritarian murderous cunts it could have been a valid system, (unlikely as i think it is)

Operation Otto was a Nazi plan to occupy Austria during the Anschluss; although named after the former crown prince, it had nothing to do with restoring the monarchy. In 1940 the name was used again in connection to the invasion of the Soviet Union. Dollfuss and Schuschnigg both ran Austria as a fascist state, and tried to counter German Nazis by aligning with Italy and Hungarian. Can't find any historical mention that either was prepared to restore the monarchy.

Stripped of all titles, man himself remains, who is allowed to return to his Creator only naked, so to speak, and despite his sins. Therein lies a deep ultimate justice that is bestowed on a believer. Because he is not bound by his good or bad deeds. None of this counts, only he himself and the promise of God's forgiveness.

I don't want to get into a tit-for-tat discussion about how many (or few) people died in the extermination camps but the figure of six million is based on an analysis of surviving German documents. The figure, that applies only to Jewish victims, is considered by some historians to be a conservative estimation.

Yes, I always forget the distinction b/t beatification & canonization, & I've never quite understood it. You're either a saint or not. They Church is only acknowledging a fact that God has guided them to in their infallable discernment. Karl I was certainly a wonderful man & his wife seems to have been his equal. Maybe he will do more good as a saint rather then as an emperor re: the future of Europe.
