This is like a portal into an alternative timeline where club music continued being fun, exciting outsider art for weirdos instead of being the domain of bros in black v-necks blending inoffensive tech house tracks with occasional delay effects while self-consciously cool people look at their phones

Definitely one of the best Boiler Rooms ever. Finally a crowd that actually and actively is partying (especially in Berlin a rare thing) For those hating on Otto's style - I guess back in the 90s you would have ran out of a club crying whenever Aphex Twin would've played
@diskoeric22482 жыл бұрын
I was too young to see Aphex in the 90's but I've heard legendary stories. Then DJ's do the same thing today that Aphex introduced 25 years ago.

The people that dislike this, and have never met Otto missed an important moment in the evolution of electronic music. Schematic records is a big deal, with great artist and, this music Otto is producing nowadays is the result of a long evolution process and is a total original psychodelic vision. And this beats are totally rad, and if u don't like it go back to hear your dance shit that sounds like everything else out there.

In the days before making my Boiler Room debut, I watched many Boiler Room sets from all my favorites and other names I wasn't familiar with. Anklepants for instance. When I watched his Boiler Room, the sheer audacity of his costume had to be #1 in the "no f*cks were given that day" dept. Now I've been an Otto fan for a hot minute. But never knew what he sounded like live. And to beat Anklepants in his own way? It's all win folks. Hands down the biggest influence to how I approached my own Boiler Room set.
@Denolc9 жыл бұрын
welll...otto has been like this for a while. I dont think he was trying to beat Anklepants, they're just similarly fucked in the head.

Just watched your BR Frankie. Kinda sad the most inspiration you could take from this, is talking to people with fx over your voice and opening with an electro tune. You then proceeded to sloppily mix your way through tunes with some of the worst transitions I've EVER seen on BR. The 17 minute mark for instance. Again at 19:22. Unbelievably bad mixing. If that's how you carry inspiration to a new level. Do everyone a favor and sell your cdjs.
