Fellow viewers, If you're thinking that "Nemçe means Austrian, not German" I am here to explain why I wrote German here. While translating, I searched the roots of the word "Nemçe" then found out that this word is actually coming from Slavic origin which means literally "German". E.g: Serbian "Nemački", Polish "Niemiecki". So I decided to write "German" there. It didn't sound wrong if we consider that Austrians are German and were the Emperor of Holy Roman Empire. Then I wrote to description that the events happened between Austrians and Ottomans. But maybe I shouldn't be more focused on meaning and written more specifically "Austrian" some people got confused because of it. So this is why I wrote "German" instead of "Austrian", I hope I was able to explain myself, Thanks for all the views and comments.

I think this would be a better translation. Küffar sanur hüccet almış Eğri'ye Hali benzer nefes çekmiş bengiye Bire sorun Nemçelüye Lehliye Ne de çabuk unuttular Muhaç'ı Yağız atın dikelince yelesi Başımızdan esti gaza nefesi Bre sorun nerde Nemçe kölesi Dayanır mı Zülfikare kellesi Haberler iletin Beç Çasarı'na Durmasın kılıcın sarsın donuna Er ise buyursun er meydanına Ne de çabuk unuttular Muhaç'ı Infidels think that Eger is under their jurisdiction, They look like they have smoked weed. Ask those Germans and Poles, How quickly did they forget Mohács? When the manes of my black horse stood up(flew), The breath of battle blew over us, Ask now, where is the Austrian slave? Can his head resist to the blade of Zulfiqar? Send a message to the Emperor in Vienna, Tell him to don his sword without delay. Tell him to come to the battlefied if he's man enough, How quickly did they forget Mohács?

@@lilo7741 it's not certain but probably not around Balkan Wars as some people suggeted. Like it don't give the same vibe and feeling those anthems give. The author's aim when he mentions "Nemçe" was probably about Austrians, not German's or more correctly German principalities or Holy Roman Empire but I don't think its worth to b*tching this much. I don't think majority of people living at that era didn't really cared about it that much too since both Germans and Austrians called as "Nemçe" and its variations by the Eastern Europeans.

Yep he was the well known singer Hasan Mutlucan (he is deceased now). Throughout the seventies and eighties, radio and TV stations used to broadcast heroic songs by him on national days. Even during the military juntas of 1971 and 1980, one of the first things the military juntas did when they seized the power was to broadcast his songs.

Fun fact: When the ottomans conquered Hungary they did not destroy any monuments, sculptures. However, many claims that turks lit up churches across the occupied territories, not a single turkish manuscript took any mentioning of lighting up churches, and they wrote everything down even the smallest details, happenings. PS: many thanks for the popes of the past for the turkish invasion.

As a Turk, I say that neither Mohács nor the siege of Vienna were forgotten. I was reminded of the short conversation I had with an elderly Austrian on the train in Hungary. When he found out that I was Turkish, he joked, "Did you come to invade us?" Without laughing, I said no, I left my sword at home, I'll just go for a walk. He didn't react, but I think he was a little scared.

@@godslayer609I really don’t know is that really hard to understand? Germans are the most powerful and the most respected nation of Europe for roughly 1500 years (brits took the leadership only for 200 years). I found really badass for a nation to call Germans as slave because they are really strong. Because even one single nation had not such power to say that, especially Asian nations. Think about it historically. Not like present day. You can consider like Gary Neville was furious when they matched with Juventus in 1999. Man Utd was so scary in those days but Juventus was even more scarier. So I can found Juventus badass and impressive.

As a Turkish who's into history and have multiple historical figures in my family myself and as someone who knows my ancestors culture and who is proud to be Turkish I would like to add things to clarify, This is not an Ottoman March eventho we don't know if the lyrics are very accurate because of the wrong event chains mentioned in the lyrics yet it is a ''serhat'' more like a ''rumeli'' folk song which is belived to transferred(more or less) by generations in rumeli/balkans it has nothing to do with middle east or palestin.(Btw, Peace for palestine). Eventho there were a lot of ethnicities in Ottomans, In serhat(borderlines) they were always Turkic Beys and tribes placed by the head of goverment, Those are called Akıncı they were all light cavalary so it has turkic elements in the lyrics and composition, as a horse was everything to Turkish ''Akıncıs'' which encountered Nemçes a lot at that time on the border. Its known that it is sang for the victory in Eğri which is in todays world Hungary. On the other hand Nemçe was a general term for the Austrians and Austria not the Germans so again it has nothing to do with Arab lands. Besides victories, there are also epics and folk songs about defeats, such as ''aldı nemçe nazlı budin'', Also there are a lot of ''Turkish folk songs'' like this, It was compiled by Sadi Yaver Ataman mostly such as, buna er meydanı derler, belgrat kalesi zemlin ovası, kırım'dan gelirim, yine de şahlanıyor, bülbüller ötüyor, alişimin kaşları kare, köşküm var deryaya karşı, estergon kalesi, bulut gelir seher ile, those above are some of the Rumelian/Balkan Turks cultural songs transcribed by Kemal Altınkaya. Again has nothing to do with middle east.... Also this song has two different stles one is this one and the other one is hasan mutlucan's version. But you can find a song about Palestine by Ottomans, I won't write the lyrics here but you can find if you search ''mehmet hüseyin çavuş'un hatıraları'' when 15.000 Ottoman Soldiers from 48th Regiment of the 16th Division are blinded with chrysol substance. Arabs also rebelled against Ottomans the Turks and the effects of lawrence of arabia, şerif hüseyin, muhammed abdulvehha, muhammed bin suudand and a lot of unwanted events happened in that era from where you come from you can find some very easily actually, kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6e3ZYKMirKIkJo kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqW7mHlshqqHnMU kzbin.info/www/bejne/paTdgGmtf9WsipI +Ottoman was a very big balkan empire, all its fundamentals, hierarchy, culture and invesment was on Balkans. If you are into history you can reach these, specially if you know Ottoman Turkish or even Turkish to read insciptions or travel books from that time. Vilayets in Africa or in Arabian Penninsula were good for Ottomans geopolitically or it was a good tax places like it was in Anatolia. But except Anatolia no major manpower used from those regions for the goverment itself. Yes there was local Ottoman soldiers from Africa and Arabian Penninsula and even some officers but they didn't effect drastically neither they were used massively nor transferred for critical battles which is not a smart idea militaristicly to move to bring those troops either. They were mostly a local defensive regiments but they were not effective as their discipline and equipment was not as good as like the Turkic troops in balkans or in anatolia. There is one exception and those are Tunisian&Algerian corsairs which had a very good impact on Ottomans naval forces. + There was no freepass like in modern countries and some policies known to encounter arabs settlements in anatolia&rumeli it would be same for other ethnicities as well because not a single empire or kingdom at the time wouldn't like empty lands as it means farm, tax, trade. Those above are mostly in late Ottoman era in early era they were moslty Turks, Albanians, Bosnians and so on contributed specially in Ottomans elite forces as Jannisary and so on. I don't understand why you guys are being proud of some other nations history and being proud of a regional cultural song, every country has a beautiful history and its own culture, I don't know how you read the ''shared history with 400 years'' but I believe your culture is unique too and you should promote it rather than promoting our culture with falsehood beliefs. Also being Ottoman Teba doesn't make you Turkish/Turkic as it is ethnicity... If you are Turkish and I understand wrong correct me please. I wanna end my topic by saying #FreePalestine.

@@xvphysics673 the Ottoman dynasty felt a strong sympathy towards the Ahl al-Bayt, which is also the reason why the jannisarrys could only belong to the Bektashi tariqat, one observes the love of the Ottomans for Fatima, Hasan and Hussein, especially in the Hagia Sofia where the names of Hasan and Hussein are written on the wall, or for example in the calligraphies of the sultans, for example there is a famous calligraphy by Sultan Vahdeddin where he writes the names of Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Hussein.

@@Ain.tabMusti27 Alhamdulilah Ottomans and even turks to this day have an admirable view on Ahlul-Bayt compared to others, But This didn't translate when it came down to treating the Shiites themselves, It isn't a religious issue with the Shia sect (although it was around) but a political dispute with the Safavids who were seen as the center of Shia Islam, So Shiites were the scape goat kinda like Christian Arabs were unfortunately targeted after western interference in the region at that time.

Être fort comme un Turc (‘to be strong like a turk’): This expression originates in the 15th century when the Turks had a reputation for being strong, almost unbeatable warriors due to their numerous victories. At the time, the Ottoman Empire ruled large parts of south-east Europe, north Africa and western Asia. It is said that François I, King of France, was gifted Turkish armour by Suleiman the Magnificent (the tenth and most famous sultan of the Ottoman Empire) during their alliance. When he wore it, he is said to have exclaimed: “Here I am now, strong as a Turk!”.

Imagine u are a soldier in the 16th century singing this as he returned home from the Siege with victory and plunder. Central Europe was once the homeland for the Ottomans. Thousands of people fought and died for land and castles, but after a few generations their grandchildren have to go to those places with a visa. Exploring the history of the Ottoman Empire and modern Türkiye feels like playing Crusader Kings III.

When the mane of the bay horse arouse; The breath of Ghaza blew over us. O, ask, where are those Austrian slaves? Is it possible for their head, to resist against the Dhu'l-fiqar?
