Otto is a fantastic drummer. He should be much bigger in the Drum World.

I just love his style in LB, so unique. He almost doesn't do any classic rock fills on 16th & 32nd notes on snare and toms. Instead he does these awesome grooves and just little accents for fills.

I've been playing drums for a little over a decade and yet I still want John to be my teacher.

All you people saying that john blows just look up "the channel" from 2014 when they played it live. That breakdown is so tight. John definitely hasn't lost his touch

It may not seem lik it but if you are someone with some knowlege around the drums you would se he is actually a VERY professional drummer and probaply one of the best around on his area. And as he sais he may not be a perfect metal drummer of Jazz drummer but unlike a lot of other drummers this guy can do everything.

John is cool. I wouldn't pay 100 bucks to study with anyone except for maybe Steve Gadd. All you would do with Gadd was talk because you would be too intimidated to play. I would anyways.

John Otto is an accomplished drummer. He has some amazing beats and recordings. I think he plays well live too, my concern is if he can actually play jazz or Latin and teach it. He should have posted a vid demonstrating his knowledge of jazz playing or Latin. I saw some drum and bass, some hip jop and rock in this vid. I would like to hear him play be-bop, it would be interesting to hear.

"Travis Barker was a punk rock drummer, wich is a lot easier to play." It's what you make it. Either you play it simple, or a little more advanced. Travis chose the latter. John Otto and Travis Barker are both great drummers, stop comparing and just enjoy when they're playing.

yeah i've watched a couple of his vids, and while his recorded stuff sounds sick, his live stuff is REAL sketchy. definitely not in the pocket with his groove, sorry to say. people say what they want about travis barker, but he's a fuckin metronome, and keeps unbelievable time, even at blazing pace. I'd say he's more pro than otto.
