Ottr reveals the truth behind Streamer’s skills
🔴Watch me on Twitch: twitch.com/ottr
🔵the wingman is problematic…: • the wingman is problem...
Have you seen the skill of Apex Legends Streamers like Aceu, IitzTimmy or Faide? Their skill can be so insane that it’s easily indistinguishable from game cheats and so a lot of people accuse them with Hackusations, but how many streamers and pros are actually cheating? Ottr dives deep to reveal the truth behind cheating accusations of streamers even some famous ones like Aceu. Is Aceu Cheating? Is IitzTimmy cheating? These the questions that Ottr has asked and tried to find cheating clips to identify whether they are true or not, but the story is not that simple..

i'm not saying all streamers cheat, but man some of them have to make you wonder. especially ones that don't really have prior esports/proplaying experience to explain where the skill came from.

Some are just life long gamers in their favorite genre. I’m 24 and started playing competitive shooters in 2006 but you have moments where you’re so locked in / “in the zone” / focused. I call them black out moments bc you’re so tunnel visioned on your screen and you’re not thinking about inputs you’re just reacting. Those moments are where a lot of players hit insane clips
@javianbrown8627

@@ChizAndStuff It's honestly the best feeling to be in the zone tbh. And on top of it some players just have an afinity for a certain type of game while others play a ton, or just make a ton of mistakes and learn from them. I've certainly seen players I was way better than suddenly eclipse me in skill not because they cheated but because they had what seemed to be a really reckless playstyle that got them into many inescapable situations but when they actually start playing smart they have the have insane combat skills from their time being reckless and situational awareness from seeing the same scenarios play out and even know where players will show up. I even experienced this in season 5 of Apex where I adopted a wraith like playstyle (now transfered that playstyle to My Wattson and Maggie)

I hate this take. I grinded 40+ hours a week in apex for 6 months. At the beginning I was OK, by the end I was competing with pros in every lobby just like everyone else. People are so afraid of hard work these days that they just want to say things can't be done . Put your head down and work for things. Work harder than everyone around you, and keep working. You will achieve success eventually. Stop just giving up

A lot of the reasons for why the suspicious clips in the first half of the video are deemed not cheating just boil down to "they have a history of being good". But as anyone who has seen any speedrun cheating investigation videos, the most ppl that are likely to cheat are those who are already good at the game. I am not saying that those streamers are cheating, but "They are not currently banned" + "they have a history of being good" is not any form of vindication for suspicious clips.

I don’t think top streamers cheat, but one thing I will say is that alot of streamers absolutely gate keep. For example, controller streamers won’t show their real config layouts, mnk streamers won’t tell if they’ve messed with the files to easily superglide in game. This is a real thing and I see it more often than not.

@@SupahDoesTech This config makes it so your fps drop heavily when performing a superglide. Because you have to press crouch 1 frame after jump this becomes incredibly easy to the point that if you miss a superglide with the config file you should feel ashamed of yourself. This is very clearly cheating as superglides are advanced movement techniques and really hard to pull off nicely during fights. The fact that this is only possible by changing config files instead of something easily accessable like in game inputs like scroll wheel up for w making tap strafes easier (this is also works on controller just as easily) is what makes you gain the unfair advantage over others. I would argue this is as unfair as neo strafing (another config cheat making you strafe so quickly you're nearly unhittable with SMGs)
@RabidChasebot
@RabidChasebot 2 жыл бұрын
@@ichthyostegaxd3727 If it can be done in a config, that means the devs allow it. Back in season 0 you could disable smoke, muzzle flash, and other particle effects using a config, it was very quickly patched out. They could do the same with not allowing fps_max to be bindable. They could remove fov switching for free zoom and neo strafing by disabling the exec command in the autoexec. Devs have done it in the past, and have even removed some audio-related config stuff recently that actually made audio decent, so they could easily do this if they thought it was an unfair advantage. Since they have not, it can only be assumed to be legal no matter what any of us actually think of it.

BackOffmyJankz is a good example of someone most likely cheating, has no recoil on controller and says it's all recoil pattern memorization but also never competes in LAN tournaments or done a handcam. To me the problem is the simple fact that so long that there is good money to be made there will be a plethora of cheaters looking to put themselves in a position to get recognized and it gets even worse when there is a ranked ladder involved because most of the popular streamers and KZbinrs play at the top of the ladder so to piggyback off those content creators you cheat your way to the top to give yourself a better shot at getting noticed. Granted most of these types get found out cause they aren’t smart enough/technical enough to keep it hidden for long. Sadly this has developed into an environment where people just don’t trust other people to play fair.

the big issue is that good aim macros can be used without detection by EAC and with "pros" being on a whitelist they often won't get banned. Even if caught by EAC, they reach out to their Apex dev friend and get unbanned. It's a bummer that these "pros" are giving the impression that this level of gameplay is achievable naturally and sadly it's not. It's done intentionally to get noobs to hop on thinking they can have sick 20+ kill games and have tons of fun, when in reality it will only happen with macros/scripts or luck and/or a bot lobby. it's more prominent among MnK players but controller players as well, you may notice sometimes roller players will unload a clip into the ground for no reason while nobody is around, they are adjusting their macros. some game Devs knowingly support this behavior because more players generally means more money. It's all a money grab and you'll never get the truth from people behind the scenes. I have worked with a few different game studios, I won't mention names but one that is most rampant that I personally worked for sounds similar to Latex. GL HF players.

Notice for the average player: Most top streamers have cheats. They don't shy away from it because it's their job and not a competition (as if that justifies them). Anyone who has had long-term experience in any shooter in eSports and has sufficient experience (LAN or online championships) and level of play - they don’t want to see these streamers. These streamers not only obscure the eyes of all thousands of viewers but also devalue the players who actually have a high level of play. We live in such a time that if a person is ready to spend about $100 a month on a cheat, + buy a board with cheats (which is installed in a PC) and loads at the UEFI level, no anti-cheat will ban them even if you throw 777 reposts (about the game developers themselves I’m not saying at all that they are also laymen and cannot tell the difference between a game with and without a cheat by eye).

And they ramp up the pointless empty bravado some times to pretend they're offended, but the amount of times someone perfectly tracks a moving target even with sudden jittery movement is a really good giveaway. And, as said in the video, aimbots can be toggled on and off, nospread means all your shots can hit even without aimbot where there would be recoil. The biggest issue i have with this discussion in terms of pro players and streamers is the assumption that cheating equals straight up aimbot or wallhacks/esp. There literally exists cheats that do nothing more than REDUCE recoil (i am not talking about macros, i am talking process manipulation to actively reduce recoil, sway etc by a whatever factor you want, which in turn makes controlling said recoil FAAAAR easier). You also have either packet sniffers or straight up man in the middle software to setup radars (i.e a radar on a secondary pc/phone)... linux has more than one solution for this currently and has not (and will not) be detected currently as it's a kernel level cheat and the software to actually render this is done on another pc (EAC is nothing short of useless when it comes to ring0 cheats.. which the majority of competitively oriented cheats in apex are). Should be mentioned that i know for A FACT that this kind of cheat has been used in ALGS qualifiers by at least one team (i say at least one as they were being overly defensive and avoiding other teams the best they could... and would get randomly RUN DOWN by 2 specific teams every game they played). This is the same kind of discussion pretty much every sport has been having as well... PEDS (steroids, EPO, HGH etc) don't make you better SKILL wise, but it does allow you to do things more consistently and for far longer (i.e allows you to push physicality to a level where you would not be able to for any sustained periods). In other words.. if you are already good, you will get a lot better without it being "inhuman". This is very much comparable to streamers who are mostly known for their "inhuman skill" and absurd consistency, some of which who are so consistent that it boggles the mind (i.e playing for 24+hours straight without rest and not having a single dip in performance as an example). In the case of sports, everyone swears they aren't cheating in some fashion regardless of how absurd they look physically.... until they pop and everyone goes "durrr, it was so obvious". This has already been happening in valorant, and it's just a matter of time it starts happening every other title when they eventually/hopefully get their shit together in terms of their anticheat efforts. And just to expand on the apex issue... there are 2 cheat developers that i know of who focus primarily on hardware cheating (DMA/Direct Memory Access based cheating via a pci-e card linked to another device) that are more or less completely aimed toward competitive players that sell roughly 25-50 cards/devices A WEEK (i.e they sellout almost immedietly, and are completely dependant on how many pci leech/pci-e screamer cards are available at any given time).... these cards with software cost roughly 500-1200€ WITH A MONTHLY LICENSE anywhere between 25€ to 100€ a month attached to it.. none of them are detected by EAC and you would not know they were cheating if you were spectating or even standing beside them(unless they are running 'rage hack' settings). It makes you question things when you have a new aim god pop out of the woodwork every other day, it also makes you question things when you have several players at the latest apex lans looking like shells of themselves in terms of aim alone. As for genburten... he is a good player with a very good understanding of positioning and overall game sense (which was apparently enough for him to become world champion... then again they won without him as well).... but he also has an overwhelming amount of weird things happening to him outside of just pure aim.. e.g crosshairs literally moving toward targets while stuck lagging (when your connection is more or less 100% packet lossed the game stops polling input from your devices and kills AA until connection is restored as to avoid major desync), which is relevant as it points toward memory manipulation (reduced recoil and 'enhanced aim assist' do not check for connectivity and will try and force input to your client by memory manipulation, which in turn causes crosshairs to move on certain weapons e.g ev8/PK as the crosshair is on a offset on top of your clients normal view angles) In terms of aim... what he has shown at lan and what he has shown during pubs while playing from home are very different... he has proven he can hit fairly consistently on lan but has been nowhere near the level of aim he has showcased when he is playing from home (i.e he looked no better or worse than other players controller or not)... seriously, we have clips of him hitting nothing but headshots with r99 on a guy 80-100m away and not missing a single bullet while both are moving around erratically, meanwhile he was all over the place in both the stockholm scrims as well as the latest event (i.e he looked VERY inconsistent and looked no better than anyone else there). The genburten that will literally glue his aim on to people and one clip 3-4 people in a row was nowhere to be seen.. it was so stark that he was the least effective damage dealer out of both sharky and Zer0 (it's the complete opposite while they are playing from home). Is this any level of proof that he is cheating?.. no. But you can't help scratch your head at certain things, especially if you are keeping tabs on cheat development and actually pay attention to the ridiculous consistency of certain players.

So many people do not know about the DMA devices and how much they cost initially and monthly and how many are sold consistently. Thanks for pointing it out. It's obvious when so many are sold, you have to be dumb to not realize the type of people who are buying them. It's obviously someone who is making money from the games, i.e. a pro/streamer of the game. The cheats are all private too, not like Engine Owning and other well known cheats that the average Joe Blow cheater uses. They are also designed to look as legit as possible, and are very, very rarely ever used to rage hack. I would estimate that at least 95% of the very top streamers are using one of these devices and they justify it because playing the game is their "job". It's sad that playing games has become a job, and is exactly what has ruined multiplayer gaming, and is the reason for the rampant cheating.

According to someone who codes cheats for Valorant, most of their customers are either kids or content creators (streamers, youtubers, tiktokers, etc). I don't think that the big streamers most people know are cheating, but smaller streamers trying to come up and attract attention through crazy gameplay probably are. The cheat-provider didn't say which content-creators he sold the cheats to, but the interviewer didn't ask him that question. The interview is on Eggwicks channel, if you want to check it out. But like I said, I don't think streamers who are already huge are cheating, but you never truly know.

How are these streamers still dominating at these levels when they should statistically come up against a cheater in something like 1/4 matches after LE? I know they often find ways to smurf against lower skilled players for content but it's just insane to watch streamers kill cheaters and say " wow they outskilled the cheater". lmao. The only ones they die to are the LMAOBOX spin bot style aimbots that just 100% acc you.

You watch them hit crazy shots and plays that make the game look more fun than it is, so you wanna run out and buy the game to try and emulate your favorite streamer. It's literally advertising. Between bad or spotty connections, server speeds, half-assed netcode, and just general bugs, there is no way in hell these players hit the shit they do with consistency they do. "if he was aimbotting, he'd be flicking right on the target, not just towards them". These kinds of videos are always by ill-informed people assuming everything should be blatant, or even that if someone is pro or played on LAN, then they're 100% clean. Humanized aimbots pull the crosshair near the enemy to reveal to the user where they are. It's typically a soft aimlock as a means to give the user info, only full locking when the user already has their crosshair placed directly at them. Pros aren't superheroes, they cant defy human abilities. At some point you have to realize you're calling "gamesense" or "fast flicks" on every single clip, often when there is NO info to go off of, and the flick is perfectly onto someone not even on their screen.

I don't have those kind of hours dedicated to any particular game anymore but I can understand how the pro streamers are constantly getting accused. Doesn't help that there's been so many streamers who get caught hacking live and they then delete all of the socials and streams after.

In speedrunning, reason for cheating is usually that you are quite good, but either rng or some other factor just keeps you from getting a top 10 time. In their head they deserved it, so they'll just cheat a bit to get it. I think that's one reason to cheat.

The funniest with Timmy is that for every clip of him flicking to someone and beaming them, there's 3 of him flicking to a spot no one is standing and beaming the air with the exact same level of speed and control. Of course, if you point that out, the tin foil hats come out and they'll say he's faking shooting nothing to throw you off. All evidence proving them innocent is flipped around into evidence of them covering up cheating. When in reality it's all just evidence that whoever is making the accusations is extremely insecure about their skill level.

I think most of these players definitely honed their skills over many years and grew up with this stuff. However I do think of sports like motorsports where teams will find any way to skirt around the rules set in place to gain an upper hand. Cheating has been a part of motorsports since it began. Always gonna be those kinds of people but I don’t think that’s the majority of good players on these games. Especially if they’ve proved themselves in a LAN environment.

yes a lot of them do, they make money off of it, nobody is consistent into winning in every game, i don't give a shit, you can be the luckiest, it just doesn't go that way everytime, even for a skilful player. With the amount of hacks nowadays, esps and crap like that, they can easily do it via 2 monitors, in tarkov and other games, worst part is, they rip ppl off cos they donate while being unfair.

I always find hackusations funny. I have been accused so many times (not so much in Apex but Star Wars Battlefront 2) even by cheaters themselves. I remember posting some clips from that game on Reddit and people went out of their way to make separate threads just to accuse me and to not believe my clips. I have never cheated in any game, as I've never felt the need to and the game would likely be less satisfying. While I don't want to say never believe hackusations, please just realize that there are people out there better than you and just because someone is able to produce a few minutes of nice clips from hours, weeks, or months worth of gameplay doesn't mean they're cheating.

I personally know several several pro players who are cheating when not playing on Lan. They are "controller" players but not really controller. They are using xim apex and also using DMA map radar with zone prediction. They will never be caught because there is nothing to detect in terms of the anticheat. The firmware used by the DMA is of the highest quality and even bypasses VGK IOMMU blocks because it's imitating a NIC perfectly.

Listen man… regardless of what all they Stan’s say… Majority of these dudes are using LaviCheats. I watch countless videos watching streamers do things that are not possible concerning aim and with guns. But most of these fans will convince you it’s because they are using a mouse. From silly recoil videos to throw off the scent to silly control and visuals setting videos to help aim. It’s all bullshit. No recoil with a Havoc and 3x Bruiser landing 89% of a clip? Knock it off. They are so high up they can’t get banned because they are ambassadors for the game. The cheats they have a percentage in which you can set the accuracy and consistency of the aim on the shots concerning snap.
