Group from Central Siberia (Russia). The OTYKEN group is Siberian natives from the composition of small peoples (Chulyms, Kets, Selkups, etc.) Tracks are released in Chulym, Khakass and Russian. There are just over 300 native speakers of the Chulym language left in the country. The artists sew their own costumes. Visually, these are traditional indigenous outfits. In appearance, the attributes of several Siberian tribes are presented at once. As for the instruments, they are also partly made by ourselves, you have to order something, they play both authentic and rare instruments - jew's harp, ikili, khomys - as well as drums and bass guitar. Use throat singing and recitative

I'm a fan of otyken and from what it sounded like in a live video of them. the band is pronounced as o two ken but I could be wrong. also it sounds like a bit of "a" in the "o" but that could be just the way the announcers talks

The Jew's harp, also known as jaw harp, juice harp, or mouth harp,[nb 1] is a lamellophone instrument, consisting of a flexible metal or bamboo tongue or reed attached to a frame. Contrary to the colloquial name, the Jew's harp most likely originated in Siberia, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp3QqmWuntp8mc0 specifically in or around the Altai Mountains and has no relation to the Jewish people. Jew's harps may be categorized as idioglot or heteroglot (whether or not the frame and the tine are one piece); by the shape of the frame (rod or plaque); by the number of tines, and whether the tines are plucked, joint-tapped, or string-pulled.

🤣😂🤣 Juice Harp? I suppose in the 20th century it did in some places get corrupted to that but in English it was called a Jews Harp - best guess is that it was thought that Jewish merchants introduced it to Europe. Bear in mind that this is only in English, it is an ancient instrument originating in China and has a plethora of names.
Time for some more Amyl and The Sniffers I reckon bro....Hertz, or Guided by Angels....see if you can handle some more Aussie punk! Really interested to see your reaction mate, seriously think tunes hey!

In the 70s they told us it was a Jew's Harp. Some people call it a Juice Harp. I have no idea

You mean jaw harp? And that's called a khomuz, similar but not a jaw harp. Jaw harp isn't always even an actual instrument, here in the south it's a form of making those sounds with your mouth, although there is something called a jaw harp which makes about the same sounds, but it was made for the folks who couldn't do it with their hand, nose, and mouth. I see some places selling it online call it jews harp but I think that must be a typo, sounds downright antisemitic far as I'm concerned.
