Solus Darkcoat the author is chosen by Merlin, the hat was created by Merlin. They really just added one higher power and those are examples of his magic

We didn't know that, all we knew was that they were ramping up the difficulty in order for the show to stay "interesting", it's a typical and weak form of storytelling. The season one of the show was good as well as most of season 2, they had actual character development and then they just go and erase all of it in the later season to keep things "interesting".

Since we're going to the 'Hercules' story in the second half, I do believe that Zeus and Hades created that Grail and placed it on Earth for Merlin. And Hades did the price for the evil part of it.

Grail is the source of magic, merlin drank from it, that makes him one of the most powerful sorcerer’s on that show, the dark one next, but because the dark one is tether it weakens them, also merlin relies on love as well so it makes him in a way more powerful, he created a wand to travel between realms, and the apprentice used it in a workd without magic, i think merlin can also use magic in the land without magic like the dragon

Since season 6 added another part to just before the curse and Rumples Birth now is a issue here but that's will be added I'm guessing so many people are trying to finger out this timeline the creators need to make it clear once and for all what goes where by just putting a key on a site so we know how the flash backs go in the right order

i saw it too. i thought that was camelot but we already saw how that was made. so i think it was merlin's tower. it was already there when arthur tried to find the dagger. when he used magic to create the rest of camelot, it took the apperance of merlin's tower

10GGundam Magics limits are really undefined in this universe, like does anyone of the writers for this show make magical rules that aren't broken, I'm bringing back the dead, time travel, etc, it seems no one can have a limit that can't be broken. I mean making the entire magic forest and making a castle in one fell swoop. I do question whether they will be able to make a rule that is completely unavoidable to break.
