Damn. The way he said it. He didn't sound menacing. He sounded unhinged and broken. Like he's still in pain from her betrayal. He has every right to be angry. But the fact that he sounds so crushed that she would do those things to him made that line hit so much harder.

Well to be fair he was a villain once. So it’s probably easier for him to slip into that darkness. Meanwhile Emma was the savior and had a lot of light inside of her because of what Snow and Charming did before she was born.

+Shuuwai Liam was his big brother and a huge influence on Killian's life as we saw two episodes ago but Killian was still in every sense of the word, abandoned and an orphan but I do see what you are saying that he had his brother, unlike Emma. Either way, I was just pointing out the irony of him saying this to her, it was really a low blow meant to hurt her, I am just glad Emma saw it for what it was, the darkness talking, the true Killian would never have hurt her like that

Okay can we give kudos to Colin for this scene? He did such an amazing job playing a dark one, I mean I think I speak for just about everyone when I say that we truly hated Hook in this moment for everything he said to Emma especially that orphan line. I have always loved/ hated this scene.

I didn't hate him for that. Because it is technically true. Yeah, it was horrible to say, but she had hurt him. But she also needed to hear it, because it is the truth. She pushed the people she cares about away because she thought they'd get hurt, but they were just getting more hurt in that process and it was hurting her too. It was an absolutely awful thing to say, and I agree that he could've said it nicer, but he was a dark one, he was angry, and it had to be said. It is also said that the people closest to us can hurt us the most, because they know what to say to get under your skin and to upset you, also because it always hurts more if you care about them!

The thing with Hook is that he has had a darkness in him for a long time, since way before he was a dark one. So adding that darkness onto what he already had made him worse. Whereas the other dark ones (that we know of) have all been either a hero, a coward or just an overall nice person before gaining the darkness... Pretty sure Hook is the first dark one who was a villain beforehand that we have seen or know of. Therefore he is pretty horrible as a dark one. But he was hot too! I love Colin! He is an amazing actor and just overall fantastic!
