I had to get a FB after trying a sample. I don’t get any particular nuttiness either. It’s mostly woods and crispy leafs with a nice understated depth on me. I think it’s perfectly unisex and ‘expensive' smelling. I love it 🥰

I ran after your video to apply the remnants of my sample! Oh it’s so very rich and creamy to me, and I get the fir resin and I think it’s “oak” that I smell. It’s boldly woody and different than cedar. I’m on the lookout for the fur!!!! Chipmunks are my spirit animal, so this fragrance means a lot to me. I hope to get a full bottle at some point.

Hi Tom! Love your videos, the chill vibe is so relaxing. And i love when you’re really hyped about a fragrance too, the enthusiasm is catching! In fact, after watching some of your Zoologist videos, with me, my hubby surprised me with the sample pack for my birthday! I was so happy to get to try them and see for myself what you’ve been talking about! It has been a really nice little kind of adventure for us to explore the different scents, reading the little stories and sniffing each other’s wrists, lol. Plus, the doggo can get in on it too- he loves listening to the stories and really loves being part of a smell based activity 😆. My fave is Dodo, hubs likes Camel and Elephant. T-rex was definitely the most fun tho, it really tells a story through the scent which is awesome. Hope you get your “mojo” back, since you’ve certainly added some to my life! I recently got the discovery set as a gift too, and also really liked Dodo. I was surprised because so many reviews seemed to find it off-putting. I did find the opening "urinous" but after a half hour it settled into the most beautiful fragrance. I find it settles on skin much better than paper. Anyways always happy to see another dodo lover!

Wearing Chipmunk right now! I love watching your reviews while testing the fragrance; they're so helpful for a newbie who's just developing their scent palate and vocabulary. I LOVE Chipmunk. I've always suspected that I like woody notes, but this confirms it.

Great to see you‘re back and fingers crossed you‘ll get out of this funk you‘re in. Loved your review, as always. I have a full bottle of Chipmunk, fell in love with it at first sniff, and I get a distinct nuttiness and now am trying to find other nutty perfumes, as it turns out I love nuttiness in fragrances. Thanks Victor. Must be cos I am a bit nutty myself. Mendittorosa South has a distinct hazelnut note too which I love, but it is a bit out of my price range for now. OOoh maybe you could do a 10 best nutty perfumes video one day? :O

I get the impression Victor's a very hardworking, charming, pro-active businessman and vigorously creative ball of energy who is well aware of how social media works when it comes to commerce and knows which strings to pull. However, as much as I love his aesthetic and brand concept, I'm so sorry to announce here that I find Zoologist fragrances completely unwearable on my own person. I really wanted to love them 🙁. I've got so many samples and I can't wear more than three of them; Chameleon, Bee and Hummingbird are the only ones I'd wear, though not buy full bottles of. I'm going to give the line up one last try: could anyone reading this who is a big fan of the house and is familiar with most of the fragrances please recommend one for me to try and hopefully fall in love with? I'd be so appreciative. Thank you! Great video again-- you could sell ice to Northern Siberia. You're fantastic-- hope the creative block melts soon. 😄

Have you tried Camel or Civet? I LOVED the old version of Dragonfly, too. But I don't know what the new version is like.

I like mixing Bee with Civet. Maybe 2 sprays of Bee and one of Civet. Moth is addictive to me. But it's too hard to wear too. Maybe I can mix it with Bee as well :D

Have you tried Dodo? It has a similar sweetness to those other ones but with a little more offbeat, alluring undertone. 😊

I'm very curious about zoologist! I'm still new to the fragrance world, I only just recently started wearing any scents in my late twenties. I was first intrigued by ELDO ads and bought their large sample set but didn't really find any that worked for me. I've since found Alkemia and have been working my way through their samples! My favorites are The Libertine, Silken Tent, Magpie's Rhyme and today I'm trying out Rondeaux D'Amours which I quite like! Anywho I'd love to see you do a review of some Alkemia scents!

Personally, I like Musk Deer more than Chipmunk and I believe these 2 scents are cousins for sure - But, I still think they did a good job with it. Some of their fragrances lean a bit more masculine to me (and the woody-bombs for sure can)...Alas, Chipmunk isn't my favorite but I mean...Its Zoologist. They are brilliant with everything they make! I personally am waiting to try Seahorse...Great Video As Always! xoxo

OMG I want this already for the bottle alone. What an endearing image! Unfortunately the pine note will probably keep me from wanting it. But that is just a question of personal taste. The base sounds incredible though!

It’s not so much piney pine but fir balsam so it’s like an evergreen loveliness as opposed to pine floor cleaner hehe

I received this as a sample when I ordered from Zoologist Perfumes and I agree with your description. For me, I absolutely get some sort of nut smell shortly after the opening but it doesn't last long before it moves on to the "cute" small furry animal part :o) I wish it had better longevity but it is a very nice one. I do love this brand and thank you for your great review.

I got a sample of chipmunk and i feel like they made a mistake because its literally like a fir tree very pungent, not nutty at all. It smells very similar to sloth so I wonder if my nose is just not trained enough, or if they sent me something that isn't chipmunk. Its so intensely mascule but more than that, like a cancel.

What did you think of Nightingale? It smells of animal faeces on me. The brand concept is brilliant but I don't find the fragrances wearable in the traditional sense. They don't compete in terms of practical application with what's on offer in the niche world; I enjoy smelling them at home and having a wonderfully relaxing, creative, imaginative time of reflection-- but I wouldn't choose them to fragrance my entire person before leaving the house. People are oddly protective of Victor and his brand and dislike any negative reaction, wanting to fight with people over subjective opinions. I feel embarrassed every time I come across supposed adults, who are strangers to one another, bickering online about their tastes in expensive fragrances. 😒 I wonder which Zoologist fragrance you like to wear out of the house yourself? 😃

CiganyWeaver and her periwinklebluespacecaravan same. Tried everything, meh. Interesting taste which I’m not tuned into at all. The molecules they use for musks, woods, fruits and animalics don’t do it for me.

@@evildead2002 Also, if people didn't play along with the marketing, get all sucked in and excitable about the information, the aesthetic presentation, the concept behind each fragrance, I ask you: would anybody 'blind wear' these and coo over them as if they're so much superior to what else is on offer out there?! Oh bollocks they would. If you didn't know what Zoologist fragrances were supposed to conjure up, most of them would just smell slightly 'off' and deeply unpleasant to everyone who leaned in to kiss you on the cheek. I deeply resent people getting sucked in by marketing (a bit like Kat Von D fans back in the day believing her fragrances to have ANYTHING whatsoever to do with 'goth luxe' just because of the cheesy marketing and packaging). I can enjoy the Zoologist fragrances at home, knowing full well what they're all about as it becomes an imaginative exercise and really fun, like an olfactory board game kind of thing. But to choose Zoologist as my final esoteric, olfactory accessory before I leave the house?! No chance. I'd be far too embarrassed to walk around smelling rotten and faecal; as if I had some kind of sour, sickly metabolic disorder causing my skin to smell putrid, or was sweating out heavy duty medication post hospital. De Gustibus non est disputandum, so each to their own. I love hearing what other people really like or dislike- especially if I disagree with them. What fun! What larks!
