Zoologist "SACRED SCARAB" Fragrance Review

It's so interesting what a journey you get with Zoologist perfumes. On me the 🪲 turns super soapy. I didn't get any dust, mostly lotus, plum and aldehydes. Btw did you smell the Powder & Dust/ Cockatiel? I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.

OOOh, your description is, as always, spot on. I also have a 10ml of Sacred Sacarab and have to say it smells as I imagined it would, … but also not. To me this has a dark reddish brown colour and it smells sweeter and richer than I imagined. I also expected it to smell mustier, or maybe dustier, drier. It is actually quite resinous and has a deep sweetness, I guess that comes from the wine. Funny that you don‘t feel you get the red wine element. That reminds me a little of Bapteme du Feu by Serge Lutens, also a fragrance in this style that I love. It is a true masterpiece. Just the fact that we can spend hours talking about it, taking the notes apart, trying to interpret the different accords, just like a piece of literature or a good film, that means it is well and truly genius. And just like you, I now want to go back to Hyrax. Funnily, I hated Hyrax when I first smelled it. Now it has really grown on me and I might need to try that a bit more to see if I need a bottle. Will def try this, on my radar...chypre-vintage-dry resinous-amber....mmmmmm ... (Nefertiti by Shaun Maher is am-a-zing and is also based around kyphi and it sounds as if it could be similar).

I love Sacred Scarab for the spring/summer - starts so bright and ends dusky and musky,a real journey of a fragrance. I get sangria in the opening, but it doesn’t last long as you said. It lasts forever on fabric. I love getting different perspectives on my fragrances. Can’t wait to try Tiger, I keep checking the site to see if the sample is out.

Lol...This one sounded so tough to describe...I'm just gonna have to try it! The last 2 I got from Zoologist were Cow and Seahorse...So, I am behind too for sure. I am curious about all of them because Zoologist, to me, is one of if not THE most avant garde fragrance houses in the world! So anymore reviews on the new ones would be awesome! Harvest Mouse, Cockatiel and Cardinal...I would love your opinion since most all of my Zoologist purchases have been influenced by your reviews Thomas...xoxo

I get a slight foxy grape candy vibe in the heart/dry-down, but its very well-blended in and not cloying. Overall, to me its a contemporary and very wearable interpretation of vintage Dior Poison - slightly aquatic/watery, juicy and sophisticated with the fruit dialled right down. No notes are outstanding, its a perfectly smooth blend.

im smelling my sample while i watch the video. I must say I was disappointed once it dried out. Too soapy for my not immersive or thematic. The opening was a lot more interesting for me. #ilikedthepoop

In terms of your ranking of zoologist perfumes can you say at what place would you put the "sacred scarab"? Is it in the top ten or top five or somewhere else? I am always interested about your opinion.

Hello! Oh yes nightingale is so special for sure! I would say scarab is definitely not in my top 5. It would probably sit somewhere in the middle of the pack. :)

@@ouch110 I do t really care for designer perfumes , I prefer niche. However perfumes such as zoologist and others you have reviewed aren’t easy to buy in UK

@@itsmememe3489 zoologist sell Direct from canada and it’s cheaper than getting it from the one shop in the U.K. that sells them. Super fast also! :) just takes a bit of digging :)
