That eldo 😍 time to get sampling! I own volcano and it's great to see it getting some shine. I was choosing between Frédéric malle the night and the promise , but I went with the night. Ramon monegal flamenco & guerlaine rose nacree du desert are some of my favourites. Amazing picks!

Hello! I haven't tried it on skin but I can tell you that's it's WAY more an Oud fragrance than sandalwood. The receptionist at my previous job used to wear it and it filled the whole area with that intense oud woody smell.

Interesting. Malle has some nice roses (PoAL, Noir Epices, Superstitious, Une Rose, Lipstick Rose). I'd probably pick these - Portrait of a Lady Eau de Protection La Fille de Berlin Thirty-Three Voleur de Roses Noir de Noir The other Malle's are quite nice, too. Malle has some of the best florals.

Hahaha....i heard about Grossmith from that famous BBC perfume documentary. Have tried their first three releases but it was a bit too vintage/ expensive for my liking hence i stop sampling the house. Need to put Saffron Rose on my list since you've rated it so highly. If you like british houses, one of my favourite roses is Tobacco Rose from Papillon Artisan. Not sure if you've tried that?

Saffron Rose doesn't have the super vintagey feel as some of their others like phul-nana and hasu no hana, it's more modern with oud and such, but yes it's totally stunning when worn on skin. It's beyond me to pull off such a glamourous fragrance but I don't care it's too lovely to ignore haha. I have heard of Papillon Artisan, actually someone mentioned them today at work! How strange, but have never tried any. I must look them up! :)

So, I got a discovery set from ELDO, and it has Eau de Protection...do you suppose the formulation has been changed? This does not last AT ALL on me--nor on the sample strip. DAMMIT I wish I had some fragrance friends close, bc I do not understand this fragrance at all :/ TIA! OMG, Lyric...I sprayed it on, thought it was nice, but not amazing. But it was just SO bloody beautiful ALL DAY. Probably will be my first Amouage fb purchase.

Great video...really good descriptions. I have a sample of Slow Explosions and I want a full bottle so much. I am considering changing jobs at the moment, so I being frugal right now(pooh). Maybe I should throw a dart at the want ads? I knew I wanted it when I was shopping and thought "Wow! Something smells so good!" I moved my arm and I got a whiff and realized, "It's me that smells so good!!"

Hello! Noir de Noir to me is wayyyy sweeter and softly resinous, POAL is dark and patchouli heavy. It's very unique (however I have found a few similar things). POAL is a force to be reckoned with and it's becoming more and more popular!

May I suggest you try from Saudi perfumer (Rassasi) the fragrance is (Ward Al- Tai'ef)... means rose of AlTai'ef city....it is straight forward rose...not mettalic as the Bulgarian..but sensual, uplifting, hypnotizing

Ta'if rose oil is so spectacular. I have smelled it a few times and it's so beautiful. I must admit, I am not usually super excited about middle eastern brands but I'll definitely look them up! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

ouch110 Fragrance Reviews - he has a good Magnolia and Licorice Vetiver too - but you don’t like licorice do you? Also his Fruit Patchouli and Sunmilk Flowers. Great sprays but not cheap with the postage. I do like Sven’s work.

Rose is such a note that they can make it like a mess or make it so expensive and beautiful. My top are probably: 1. Serge lutens fille de berlin 2. Eau de rose diptyque 3. Montales intense cafe 4. TF noir de noir 5. L'omber Dan l'eau Diptyque again

Hello Rakesh. What I mean is that the fragrance can be so overwhelming and strong that it can overtake everything. It feel like the perfume is bigger than you. hehe. It's just a funny phrase to indicate something swallowing you up. :)

I have some fragrance samples that are too mystical for me (I'm sort of always trying to understand what they have in them, and trying to figure out if the notes I get, for e.g., match what's written in Fragrantica or in the perfumer's site), and they take over whatever I'm trying to do that day - and I'd thought that's what it would mean that a fragrance is wearing me. :) Thanks for your reply. I love your reviews - it's amazing that you present so much content, and yet you're able to keep it light-hearted. Keep going!
