In Breda wordt een jazzfestival gehouden met de naam Jazz-zesdaagse. De opening van het festival wordt verzorgd door burgemeester Merkx. In theater Het Turfschip zijn optredens te zien van de bands Chaquet & Co uit Frankrijk, Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra uit Groot-Brittannië en George Probert and his Happy Riff Machine uit de VS.
