How extremely fitting that MK Dons is feutured in a series called "the business of football"...

There used to be a club called Wimbledon that played in West London and had decades of history and attachment to the local community. That club was sold to Pete Winkleman who rebranded it as Milton Keynes Dons and moved it 40 miles away to a town with no connection to the club whatsoever, other than 'Dons' which was the nickname of Wimbledon. This is the only example of franchising a sports club in Britain so therefore as a business case study it is quite interesting..its also why they are the most hated team in Britain and not regarded as a 'proper' club at all by most other football supporters

Pete Winkleman lecturing us on how football is not a business and how it is more about a community is so utterly ironic and frankly it is disgusting. Made me not watch the rest of the series which sounding pretty interesting until I saw this. Find a real club to interview!
