What a beautiful song. Sweet and romantic full of sweet feelings. There are no singers like her anymore. I only listen to he r songs. She is my favorite singer. Helas i can't write in arabic, I can only speak the language. I therefore I have to express my feeling writing in English.

habibi - that is what she called my sons, I gave my grandmother a recording of this before she died. She grew up in Egypt and she listened to this for hours. Nothing means love to me more than this.

Great memories. Her band and she would take you to different horizons. The world of "One thousand and one nights" is so serene. People had a date with her every 1st Thursday of the month. They missed none. They gathered around the radio to cruise above the clouds and enjoy the melodies. The Sax player; the late "Samir Sorour" used to live across from our old residence. He was a nice gentleman.

@numoon566 жыл бұрын
lyricstranslate.com/en/Laylat-7ob-night-love.html the translation do not really make justice to the beauty of the lyrics in Arabic and the way she preforms ... but still gives you an idea about what she is saying .. I hope this helps :-)

@@NeuronToBrain a good and helpful explanation. Is this epic piece in fact written about the 1001 nights? I have researched the composer before but keep forgetting his name. There's a different performance of this with a somewhat different arrangement which i feel is absolutely to die for. Bte, how cool and grand does Oum Kalthoum look with her sunnies on beside the Sphinx? 😎 What a legend.

@mohammedashrafabdelrazek76988 жыл бұрын
why r u asking that silly question ?
@sheriensultan97288 жыл бұрын
Umm Kulthuum used to perform to large audiences, many of whom would get so lost and frenzied in the music and shout out. That's why you hear that background. Watch one of her concerts and you'll understand.
@mohammedashrafabdelrazek76988 жыл бұрын
that still dont relate to the question though
@sheriensultan97288 жыл бұрын
+M.Ashraf Abd Yes it does. When you listen to this, you can hear people cheer and scream, as they do in football matches. The question doesn't need to be taken literally.
