Be careful putting his body into cooler water when he has a fever as that can put his body in shock, learned that from my dad who's a fire fighter and emt. Strip him down to diaper and wipe him down with cool cloths. That's what we did with my niece who had a 103.5 temp:( brought it down a few degrees. The word u are looking for is susceptibility to find out what is susceptible or resistant to that specific strain. I am so glad he's doing ok and you guys were on top of everything. Such amazing parents!!

As long as the water isn't too cool, but this is good advice. Wet clothes with a bit of alcohol is what my grandmother said would work when my son was little.

Here in new Mexico the pedestrians say that babies dont have a fever until they have 104.0 temp. Its the craziest thing to have a baby with a temp that high. I will be praying for you all.

When my son was 29 days old,he had a fever that high.Come to find out he had the FLU and a UTI..I was also told that it is rare for boys to get a UTI...He was in the hospital for 3 days..Trust your gut Momma! Glad he is doing better.

My daughter has the same thing but she only has one kidney her doctor took her off her setra and is doing good for now. Hopefully Theo will be ok he'll be ok he's a strong boy. Prays for you guy and precious little Theo. Love you guys.

Amber I found out my son had one kidney when he was around 21 and I had to take him to the hospital for appendicitis! They did an MRI to see what was causing his gut pain and then the doctor popped his head into the ER room, and asked me when he had his kidney out. I looked confused and he left and came back a few minutes later came back and told me everything that was wrong with him. After a week he was all better, but a good thing we knew about the one kidney as a few years later he had his first kidney stone, and as I'm sure you are aware a kidney stone in someone with one kidney is serious.

Jody - my boyfriend has had this issue - I think they are born with it. Thank God you reacted quickly. My bf has had 2 surgeries since he was a teen (when they found out) only because it damaged his one kidney because no one looked into his reoccurring UTI's. Fast forward..he is now 53 anx only 1 kidney is partially functioning from the damage. So, being a proactive parent probably saved his kidney and the hospital or Dr there made the right call. Thank God. I will continue to pray for him and you guys as a family. You guys REALLY ARE GREAT PARENTS. Keep it up and always trust your gut. Great job in making the decision you did.

His kidney was "ballooned" and I'm wondering if they can just use a catheter to go up and empty his bladder as well as possibly open that flap for him. God bless all of you. Stay well and safe!

sorry to hear about Theo, I hope everything can be resolved quickly for fever our trick was always skin to skin, I know that this would not have helped as much compare to antibiotics but it helps that calm them and can reduce the fever

The C&S is the culture and sensitivity. The sensitivity tells you what antibiotic kills the bacteria that has caused the bladder infection.

❤ Awwww Theo! He will be ok. My guy was born with a ureteropelvic junction obstruction, left kidney. He had surgery to fix the issue and he was on keflex for several months after. He has since graduated from his urologist.

Culture and sensitivities tell exactly the antibiotic that bacteria is sensitive to. ( I am a retired critical care RN for adults. But same tests used). Glad Theo is back at home .❤️

My niece have that happen to her! She spent probably all her first year in and out of hospitals. When she was a year she have a surgery to fix it! I was really scary! But 8 hours after surgery she was dancing in her hospital crib and smiling! Why they wait so much time for surgery, well we used to live in Puerto Rico and nobody see exactly what was happening. Just relax a little keep taking care of Theo and if they said surgery, is better surgery that UTI

Basically his ureter isn’t working correctly. I had the same thing as a baby and had the surgery called ureteral reimplantation surgery at around 18 months old maybe even earlier than that. They basically reposition the ureters which are the tubes connecting kidneys to bladder so that it doesn’t reflux any more. He’ll probably have to have routine ultrasounds and what’s call a VCUG to monitor the reflux especially after surgery as he grows. I’ve been on oral antibiotics my entire life due to getting frequent UTI’s
