Because you sometimes play using your hands (like the game with the sheets in bed), Nova is having trouble telling when it is O.K. to attack the hands, and when it is not. A lot of cats have this problem. If you switch to using a toy to tease her in the bed, it should help greatly. Bitter spray (sold in pet stores and cosmetics section of other stores (to help people stop biting their nails)) on the backs of your hands can also help. Wand toys, so that she can hunt without associating any parts of your bodies as prey also helps. (I had a Bengal cross years ago, and these helped me break his "attack play" habits early on and redirect the play to safer targets.) Given you are very involved, caring and observant pet parents (e.g., the home-made kicker toy), it should be pretty easy to reshape this behavior.

Soooo entertaining I had to watch twice!!! The stuffed sock is a great idea. Someone in the comments explained how to use this instead of your hands, so Nova doesn't get so confused and can redirect her biting to the sock, instead of you...also had other great suggestions. I took my Mio out in the snow even 😂🤣. The walks were usually shorter because after 20 minutes he turned around and walked home 🤣😂. My boy passed in September 🐈‍⬛🖤. No more walks outside with him. He loved them! I even let him climb trees but I always had my eyes on the leash so it wouldn’t all get twisted up and he’d get stuck. I miss him. 🖤

I had a good laugh seeing Nova starting to cross the narrow stream on the fallen trunk, then, half-way, descending into the water for a sip, then climbing with some effort back up onto the trunk and finish the crossing. She must have thought you were giving her a challenge so she completed it dutifully, lol😅

My rescued Bengal is also extra depressed this winter. We have one of those wolfwinters in Sweden this year. 3 feet (1.m.) of snow and about 10-20 degree below freezing. Since November she screams me otta bed to shovel her door free from snow. She is 7yrs old and just barley knows how to use a litterbox. Never scratched anything, never even cough up a hairball indoors. We both have a hell this year! .. Global warming, my ass! I feel for her to hold it in for days on end.

if they attack you when they shouldn't or if it hurts too much hiss at the cat - this way they understand that they overstepped and it wasn't seen as fun or play... they look funny at you back because they don't expect this reaction but they will play differently with you after some time...

Nova with paws in the small creek 😻😆😁🤣. Good to see the plaid-clad outdoor adventurers together again 👍. That seems like a really good-fitting harness for her (which is half the battle sometimes). How long did it take her to get used to the jacket? Or was she cool with it from the beginning? I ask because my cat was really good with a harness for outdoors, but hated any kind of jacket to wear if it was somewhat cold lol.😺😸❤

She actually took to the jacket right away! I made sure to get a thin one that wasn't bulky. It's Canada Pooch and has a thermal lining. It's pretty short on her since she's so long and it's meant for dogs, but it gets the job done.
