OUR BIRTH STORY | Induced at 41 Weeks Pregnant | Epidural Hospital Birth

I had an induction at 41 weeks pregnant and in this video we go through all the details of our birth story! It was mostly a very positive experience, with some things that I also did not expect and would probably do differently next time. We are so grateful for our experience as everyone is healthy and happy!

My husband was also in charge of holding one of my legs. I remember yelling at him at one point bc he let go and I was like, "no, I need you to hold that leg or I can't push!" It is definitely something you can't expect until you've done it. It was so much more than I expected. Congratulations on a truly amazing accomplishment!

Hahaha I do recall yelling that I needed to push now and he had to pick it back up 😂😂

I pushed to longest with my first. With my second and third it happen so quickly I think my first left a map for them. Lol!

Girl! I totally relate to not knowing about pushing being so long! My nurse told me average for new mom can be 3 hours!!! I pushed for 4 hours with ZERO progress (they didn’t tell me that…). I ended in a csection bc baby wasn’t moving. My friend only pushed for 45 minutes (first time mom too)…so I think it just depends. I agree with the back pain. That was the worst!!! I think it was just from laying down so long. I was in the hospital for 15 hours before pushing.

I didn’t have an indication and was very much stuck in bed too. I expected that once I got the epidural bc a nurse friend told me you weren’t allowed to get up after. But prior to that I was hooked up to a lot of things too. I think that’s just how it works in a hospital setting. I didn’t mind bc I was so tired 😴

I expected it with an epidural but not before. I have no idea , ive seen videos of women up and about and still strapped in. I do know they were struggling to get her on the monitors because she was also moving so much so maybe that didn’t help!

Haha sorry for more comments - I’m responding as I watch. My husband also had a leg-I actually liked it and he liked it bc it made him feel purposeful and like he was helping. Our nurse was awesome and coached him well on what to do. I also threw up a couple times. It was rough.

my husband was right next to me the whole time. guaranteed i had like 6 people in the room cause i went from 5cm to fully dilated in 6 mins, but still had to wait for my doctor to show up. i had the same issue with my epidural and could feel my whole right side!

I threw up when I was induced with my son. I remember my legs just flopping out to the sides-- no control 🤣. I pushed for 2 and a half hours. You do forget how hard it is!
