Our Chateau Petit Salon - Questioning Our Wallpaper Decision

Journey to the Château, Ep. 215 - In this episode, Patrick does some plaster repair in the Petit Salon in preparation for wallpaper, and they question their wallpaper selection for that room with other possible options. Patrick and Stuart also continue work on the beautification of the chateau grounds and gardens in preparation of the world's most prestigious bike race. The 2024 Tour de France will be passing less than 400 meters away from the Chateau de Colombe, and Patrick and Stuart will be hosting a party to celebrate!

I keep Pedilyte frozen pops on hand as a cool treat and they reset electrolytes. I’m in Kansas and have learned from what you might have experienced. “get to the house before passing out feeling.” Mine is caused by Rx side effects but it took a few years for me to fully understand and plan around. Well, it seems you shouldn't second guess your first choice. I agree with the majority vote. The green paper is so elegant and serene, particularly for a morning room. I can't imagine how much work there is to maintain your grounds, never mind keeping up with all those rooms on the inside of your chateau. The time-lapse in the courtyard looked like lawn -tractor ballet.

Patrick put on your sun hat, I remember cleaning my gutters in the afternoon facing west in late afternoon here in Sacramento, needless to say wasn't wearing my sun hat, and up on the ladder,working right into the sun, woke up with vertigo, makes me dizzy and nauseated just thinking about it, so wear your sun hat, and hydrate best advice I can give, now onto something more pleasing to the eye, (although your garden is quite beautiful those dahlias are amazing in the background when you brought out your tractor) I am with Stuart that green one just seems to match your Chateau De Colombe to me so it is my choice, thank-you again for inspiring me whether it be in the kitchen, in the garden or with just a paint brush, thank-you

The Green Wallpaper that Stuart picked is perfect! The color is soothing and bright (great for a breakfast room), and the design is traditional but still interesting to look at. There is also a simplicity to it that works well for wallpaper (not too busy) The other more traditional wallpapers are okay, but the "modern one" , I feel, is not right at all for that room.

Gosh you guys work so hard the gardens are looking very pretty with the newly planted flowers and the colour of that hydrangea is wonderful I’ve only seen purple, blue and white ones. I find watching you mow the lawns quite weirdly satisfying to watch I guess it’s the end result that makes it so. My take on the wallpaper I love the last one the green one it looks very classy and elegant which is perfect for the Chateau. Thank you as usual loved your content

What a diverse range of wallpapers, you guys! My preferences would be: the green with fine white pattern that fits the period and looks really high quality or the blue-white one although it is more modern, but it just looks so wonderfully fresh and elegant. Really tough choice! And to add to your consideration: dependent on the time during the day you are going to mostly use this salon, the light will change the look of the colors/patterns of the wallpaper. Good luck!🍀

Hi Patrick and Stuart. I am all in on Stuart’s first choice, the green one. Second favorite is the blue and black but I’m not sure how that will look all over. Patrick, you were so red in the face working outside today. PLEASE carry a large water bottle with you when working in the heat, please. I had to laugh at how the two dogs seemed so interested in Patrick digging for the plants. They looked like They wanted to dig😅. ❤❤❤
