Awwwe Corey....I'm so proud of you! Your admitting to those things to your subscribers is the first part of recovery and that you are HUMAN!! Our flesh can be weak but our minds can be powerful tools when we have the want to and will power. You will make it thru this! As far as your BP goes...I can sympathize! I've dealt with high BP off and on for years now and I am 46. It definitely takes some life changes, will power and want to and tons of positive thoughts....you and your family are always in my prayers my fellow Oklahoman!!

Cory, I really love and appreciate how real you are on here. Sharing those kinds of deep, personal things about your life isn’t easy and its so SO brave of you! I had an instance a few years ago where I had a possibly high blood pressure scare. It wasn’t quite to the point where my drs wanted to put me on medication, but it was really close, and I was only 27 at the time. It was definitely a wake up call for me and I changed my diet and habits and I was able to correct it without medication. I know you will be able to as well. Thank you for being so honest all the time, especially about the hard stuff. It’s good to be reminded that, even in this crazy salt-isolation world right now, that we really aren’t alone. So thank you!!

Hey Cory, self awareness is a strong piece of armour, and facing problems, and sharing them on a public platform shows an inner strength that will sustain you and your family through these tough times. Kristen is doing all the right things, and will soon be back alongside you. Don’t be too worried about 40, I’ve just turned 61, so can vouch for how great your 40’s can be, and I believe you’ll get it right, whatever lies ahead. Stay strong, and keep doing what you’re doing

I appreciate your authenticity, Cory, and that's why I love watching your family's journey on this channel. Just a reminder: it's okay to have moments where you're not as positive feeling as well. I struggle with my mental health and some big life changes have really triggered it this year, so I've had my share of breakdowns. I think you're really brave to address these things to improve your health. I can only guess you're missing your lovely Kristen that much more right now. We will all get through this ❤

Hang in there Cory and I’m so touched by you sharing all that with us. Everything is gonna be ok. I have high blood pressure and take medication for it but hope that with healthy lifestyle changes I can get off the meds as I have in the past. I don’t drink energy drinks but definitely have a coffee/caffeine addiction. Go easy on yourself, 2020 has been difficult for even the strongest and most resilient among us. I too want normal life to return as soon as possible, we all understand. And know that despite the KZbin issues your channel and videos are still reaching people and helping people. I actually had to quarantine recently for exposure from a coworker and watched some of your old Alaska videos and they brightened my days. So thank you. It was really neat to watch them now that I actually live in Alaska and see areas and places in your videos that I recognize and see daily. So cool! Take care and good luck with all you are trying to focus on right now.

I’m sorry things are rough for you guys. I can relate to the depression of 2020. My husband lost his job of 20+ years, our state shutdown, we had a significant earthquake, my work hours were drastically cut, the kids started virtual school, not being able to visit family... it was a lot! But we are all Phoenixes right? We will rise above this and come out better than we were before. I hope Kristen is better soon, and you and the kiddos stay healthy.

The last day I had an energy drink I was already on the verge of possibly needing to be on meds. I drank a five hour, was having bad anxiety and asked a nurse to take my blood pressure. It was 145 over 90 something. I quit that day. It took two weeks for my blood pressure to go back to normal. That was a year and a half ago. Some days I still miss it but I want to be there for my kids future. You got this, I believe in you

Last of his things to be taken care of will happen this week in the middle of this C-stuff that makes everything hundred times more difficult. Hoping Kristen gets better soon and the rest of you don’t catch it. Thank you for the honesty. Don’t get too down on yourself. We all have habits we should be kicking to better our mental and physical health and/or relationships. 2020 and likely 2021 are years to survive not to thrive. Pulling for you to kick both habits and thank you for the reminder that us parents aren’t perfect because I judge myself to hard too. I often forget that I’m not alone in parenting two young children, working full time, holding down the fort, trying to remain sane, and dealing with unforeseen hurdles life throws at us.

Years ago I was an energy drink addict. Unfortunately I had a heart attack years ago, and that cured that bad habit. My cardiologist calls them heart attacks in a can. I also drank a bit too much back in the eighties, decided I didn’t like the day after feeling and stopped. I occasionally have a drink but it’s very seldom. I have a mmj card and it’s done wonders for my health issues. Hope everyone continues to remain healthy.

Recognizing those problems within yourself is the first step. And while it's scary to see those old habits affect your body, it honestly is a much better motivator than "what could happen" because you have PROOF that you need to get better, and it makes it easier to convince yourself to BE and DO better.

The thing you find with sobriety, other than a lot of senses that come back that you forget were there... But after a few months, you can look back and say "wow, it's been X amount of time..." And inside you realize that now that you got have to this point, you can do it again, and better than before. Half the struggle is just not knowing that you can. Once you know that you can, it's amazing to think about the doorways to other changes that opening up before you. Things you never thought possible to handle, becoming easier.

Cory, don't beat yourself up too badly. Personally I'm used to being a home body due to chronic illness, but for those without, 2020 was extremely hard. But! You're already recognizing that addiction is going to effect your health, your time with your kids and family, and you're making the effort to change it. Addicts I know, even if they know it's bad for health or they could die one day much sooner than naturally, but they couldn't care less. They know there's harm and make no effort to stop even if they acknowledge it once in a while. You are already miles ahead of them. I've, you could say "grown up with you" here on KZbin, I've seen you go through so much positive change. I know these are changes you can make! It may be hard, it will be one day at a time, but I fully believe that since you *want* to change, you can do it. 2 weeks of not after months with is huge. It takes alot of work to break bad habits of any kind. Especially with covid and being home, there's far less distractions, so it's even harder right now I hope you'll keep us updated with your progress ❤ I also hope covid stays isolated in the one area of your house and Kristen's full recovery happens soon

We've been following you for a long time now, and the og youtubers all say the same thing about what you see on the screen is rarely reality. Depression, anxiety, and mother mental disorders are so common in outgoing, creative people like yourself. I took a step after i had an anxiety attack and my husband put a phone in my hand to get me in touch with a crisis counsellor. If you aren't already seeing/speaking to someone, look up your local mental health facilities and see if they have a crisis hotline, they aren't just for the suicidal. Your family and your kids rely on you, but if you aren't taking care of yourself, you're not doing them any good. love you guys and hang in there :)

I understand this feeling. My husband has been deployed for 6 months and will be gone for most of another 6 months before he comes home. I don't have kids, but even taking care of my elderly cats can be trying and there are days when you just want time alone or someone to take care of you. Everything you are feeling is normal. And I know that it makes me feel a little less alone to know that I am not the only person feeling like you are. Change is hard but it is something that is a constant so just remember one foot in front of the other. You can do it.

All you have to do is keep the kids alive and healthy. The rest doesn't matter. Take some time when they are in bed to relax and recharge. We are 5 hours apart but talk regularly to keep ourselves accountable. It's hard to admit and address the addiction. We are here for you.

Whew. You know how you don’t really see a problem until someone says something? I just about cried when you talked about the alcohol problem. I’ve always flirted with alcoholism but 2020 kicked into full swing. I don’t know the last time I didn’t go a day without a drink. I’m even writing this half drunk. I want to be better. I just don’t know how. I don’t even know why I’m typing this out right now. Anyways. Thank you Corey. You’ve always been a great break from all this.

I know Cory, it’s hard. Worries about your wife, stress of the future, losing time “normal times”, I understand. Take care and do what you need to do. Be sure you don’t add problems to the mix! Thinking of you and your family and praying for only good things.

Congratulations on your amazing progress! Given your struggles with ADD, and how that can make addictive behaviours worse, that is such a huge achievement, so I'm super proud of you! These are unprecedented times for everyone so keeping yourself healthy is all that matters :) Hopefully Kristen recovers soon!

Be the person you want your children to be. That's what has kept me on the right path. Btw, my BP this past year has been sky high. Like, crazy high. My highest was 210/120 and the lowest was 197/107. Just have to take each day as it comes and keep those stress levels at a minimum.

My husband and I both had Covid at the same time and it was rough. We pretty much had to take care of ourselves. Our parents brought us groceries and set them on the tailgate of our truck. It does get better! And take care of yourself sir!

Kuddos to you, Cory, for recognizing your personal struggles. It's not easy, and COVID does not make it any better. Long before COVID and quite a few years ago, a friend of mine decided to quit smoking. She did it cold-turkey, and she requested phone numbers from her friends as accountability "buddies" each time she wanted to have a cigarette. I told her absolutely, and let her know she could call me any time, day or night, if she needed to. She said there were a lot of difficult days, but she got through it and no longer smokes, even today, many years later! So in this time of not being able to physically see people, get your accountability buddy list going. It's worth trying. Virtual hug to you

Today is the first day in forever where your video showed up in my feed AND I clicked the bell and didn't get an error message. I got a message that I'll get notifications now. WWWWHAAAT???! lol Proud of you for realizing that it's time for some changes. Prayers headed Kristen and your whole family's way.

Thank you so much for sharing this story with us, Corey, it is always one of the hardest things to do, opening up to people. But you are one of the strongest people I know and I'm certain you'll climb back up the mountain of life! Give your kids a big hug from this nameless fan in Australia, lots of love!

I understand about not drinking alcohol or energy drinks. I'm right there with you, started two weeks ago, I too was drinking every night and having a lot of caffeine each day. My reasoning is a little different though, I'm pregnant! But man oh man am I having a hard time with it. So, I get it. Lots of love and positivity sent you're way my friend. Everything is okay. You will get through this and so will Kristen. Kids are hard. Not having you're own space is hard, and trying too take care of youreself on top of it by taking away things you love is hard too. When you're feeling down pull the frown upside down.

Thank you so much for the updates and recent videos. I love watching your videos and was so sad when you stopped, but of course I totally understand! I hope it makes you happy to know that you put a smile on alot of peoples faces when you upload and maybe uplife their day. And for all the stuff you are currently dealing with - just know that you are not alone and take each day after another. Greeting from Germany :)

I understand, I have been there, and believe me, one day you will remember your bad days,. the good thing is that you recognize it and talk it that, helps. Don’t hurry, do changes little by little. I have 2 boys, they are 8 and 5 and since 2 years ago I finally can have quality time with my husband, my kids are still little but they don’t depend on me like before so we find our couple time during the day not only when my kids are asleep, and that........ really change everything. You can do it Cory. Take care of yourself
