Lol when Jenna said that she couldn't pet her cat while it was eating it made me giggle because my cat *needs* to be pet while she's eating. Every day, all day, especially in the morning she will excitedly lead me or my dad to the food bowl and when we get there, she looks up at me and starts purring like crazy and meowing and doing little circles around her bowl. Then when you start petting her, she just goes ape shit on her food lol and she will stop periodically to look up at me and blink her eyes, it looks like she's smiling..purring the whole time and she will get so excited that her tail will start to shake which usually means that they are uneasy but in this case I think she's just so stoked. lol!

Meghan good questions! In mainland China, Vpns aren't the kind of thing that will get you in jail, at least not that I've heard of. The worst that might happen is the connection is slow or doesn't work because of the reverse-hacking the government tries to do. VPNs are most widely used by foreigners who don't want to give up their social media and the use of all google apps. So they download a VPN app or program to their phone/computer before they come to China. I know of some Chinese people who are able to buy routers that can bypass the firewall for certain sites (my friend uses it for Netflix, her friends use it for porn). As I said though, it's mostly a foreigner thing. And as a general rule, we get away with a lot of things that Chinese citizens can't. In fact, foreign universities that have branches here in China have their own VPNs. My friend went to a Duke program in Kunshan and everyone in her program was able to bypass the firewall (I'm sure with limitations). So even though there's always talk of China finally putting a stop to VPN usage for good, it's so widely used and accepted that no one really believes that will happen.
